Just a question, I have a 3LN3 and the tacho only starts at 3k rpm.

When people are talking about pulling from 2k are they guessing, or are there more dashes. It redlines at 18.5k.

Was it different models, or is this strange?

Pulling from 2k? On an FZR250 more like pulling from 5k.
Below 5k is pretty much the boring lifeless realm, and i'd also go as far as saying it's not good for your engine to be that low in the rev range. No matter how many times i try and tell people these engines NEED to be revved, everyone wants to baby them around!

Riding on the street you should be cruising at no less than 6-7k and in the hills or twisties i'd be hoping you'd not let the tacho drop below 9k ever! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
