Hey guys, just a couple of quick questions,

I pulled my forks out to do fork seals earlier, and while I was at it checked the headstem bearings, they didnt sound or feel too good, so I pulled the triple clamps etc... apart to have a look. The bearings look ok, there just seems to be some dirt in the grease, I thought maybe I could just clean the bearing and repack with grease, or should I just replace them instead???

The other question I have is now after I have pulled all this apart, I have no idea how I'm going to get it all straight again when I put it all back together!
How do I get the forks straight again??

    Thanks for any Help!
    Rosco.

    Replace the bearings.

When reassembling the forks, I cannot think of anything that would prevent the forks from lining up.

Just make sure that the left fork goes on the left side and right to right. Put it all together but do not snug up the botls. Start from the wheel and work your way up to the triples tightening everything. Should be good.

    FORKS

TIGHTEN THE STEM TOP NUTS UP SO THAT THERE IS NO BACK OR FORWARD MOVEMENT,WHEN YOU PULL/PUSH ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FORK LEGS, BUT THE FORKS SHOULD STILL BE FREE TO MOVE FROM LOCK TO LOCK FREELY.
