do i need to take engine off bike to remove the cylinder head? i can't seem to get the water pipe on back of cylinder head off and this stops the head sliding off - catches on the frame. took the 2 nuts off the pipe but it won't budge. is it supposed to come off?
Been a while, but from memory yes, it has to come out of the bike for the head to come off That hose is tight, but some gentle persuasion will see it slide out
just 2 engine mounting bolts to be removed? have them off but no sign of engine coming off the frame...
I would have thought there were more bolts than that to remove <!-- s:???: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":???:" title="Confused" /><!-- s:???: -->
I can't recall exactly but on the FZR250 but on most inline-4 250's there's usually another bolt at the rear of the engine just infront of where the swingarm is. It should also be illustrated in the FZR250 manual (yes, the japanese one).
Koma, I think you are almost right, I had a look at the manual and it looks like the swingarm bolt goes thru the frame, ENGINE and swingarm.
