Does anyone know if there is a particular spot on the bike where they stamp/tag the compliance date of the bike? I know mine is an 88 2kr but have no idea when it was imported and complianced. Just interested in knowing, especially when it comes to sell time (so i can bullshit like the dealers and advertise it as a 2004 fzr! no I wouldn't really do that).
Mine has a compliance plate riveted to the outside of the frame near one of the air intake pipes. On mine it is a big flat face but I am not sure where they would put it with the box frame on the 2kr.
As Cirian suggested... my compliance plate is on the RHS at the front of the frame just before it joins the head stem. Sorry to say but you won't be bullshitting any dealers... can't bullshit a bullshit artist. Well you can, but you'll end up messy & smelly.
And so will they... but actually, no, i meant bullshitting a private buyer, like a dealer would bullshit them by advertising an fzr as a 2004 model. You know the ads you see in the trade mags with the immaculate 2001 complianced fzr (no mention of manufacture date). Sorry, maybe my grammar has gone downhill since my school years...
thanks for the help but still can't find it. i've got the engine number where you mention boz, but no date tag/stamp or anything. the guy i bought it off said it was 2004 compliance but now that i think of it i have nothing to prove that. no big deal i spose.
My compliance stamp is near the original manufacture stamp on the head, right hand side . In Tasmania the compliance date is on the rego sticker as well. Mine is reg'd as '96 yamaha but original stamp is '89. DAVE
