I have recently taken the clutch cover off my spare bike to reveal that the whole clutch assembly is pretty f*cked.

The basket has fins missing, the pegs which the springs slide over are snapped off, the bolts are the wrong ones – more like self tappers than threaded jobbies.

So it looks like I may be keeping this bike / engine for spare parts for sure, which really does bugger up my track day bike plans…..

That is unless anyone can inform me of a more common motorbike that uses the same clutch as the FZR250R 3ln. I would need to purchase lots of parts and done know if I can afford original yam bits, so a breakers would have to be used!

    Bugger is what I say.

Oh but the clutch plates all look good so I can use them in my proper bike J

Perhaps check out the zeal (yamaha fzx)? They supposedly have the same engine, just de-tuned. Perhaps the clutch is compatible?

any luck with the fzr/fzx zeal compatability?

I want to do my clutch and would rather go for the genuine parts if they are the same clutch setup.

    Any direction would be appreciated.
