do you mean changing your clutch to a hydrolic clutch? I can't help anyways, as I don't know the parts, but just thought I would try to clarify. (If that is what you want perhaps find the bike with the clutch type you want, and ask the dealers if you could order it?)
sorry not been around . No I dont mean I want to change the clutch . My clutch is slipping have tried adjusting it but i think its worn out , i need to replace it . What i need to know from you guys if any of you has replaced his clutch , what do i need to order and if you happen to have any part number to make things easy for me
Hi, My clutch is probably the first thing on my list for repair. It seems to slip a little when I really give the throttle a twist and change gears at about 14000k. But its not bad enough to worry about yet and I am a bit worried about how much it is going to cost!! Has anyone else replaced their clutch? Rob.
Never have. I was actually told that Yamaha's are quite renowned for making durable clutches. I would have no clue where to start when considering what to change here...
This won't help with part numbers etc., but may be a good source to see what is involved. http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/tech/clutch/ http://www.trailrider.com/article_22.shtml
clutch I may be able to help with part numbers give me a day on that. Reason for slipping can be worn clutch, clutch cable to tight, not enough give when the cable isnt intact. I would recomend u getting harder clutch springs and a decent new clutch. The clutch springs hold the cltuch plate onto the pressure plate and if they are stronger (race springs) they will stop any slip of the clutch. Ill get back to u
2 related questions: 1) Are there any downsides to using racing springs? 2) If not, why don't manufacturers install them? Or is this simply an issue of being cheap / reduce cost of bike?
cltuch Downsides for using these springs are they are abit heaver on the hand when u are using the clutch lever and also for the second questions they dont came standard because they are alittle heaver then stock ones and they want the rider to have an easy ride. Also they are alittle more expensive (not much) and they built the FZR250r as a ride to work and back bike for the jap market ( So yamaha emailed me and told me) so they didnt think that it would need heaver springs. From what I beleve and have been told it dosnt do any damage to your bike and it is a good idea. Regards Jarmizz PS Boz hows the need job going dude?
Job is great! Loads of fun, and my co-workers provide excellent support. The students are nice too which is always a plus.
