Hi guys Now that ive got the bike idling properly i only have 1 more problem to tackle. While the engine is running i hear a rattling noise coming from the engine. When i pull the clutch lever in the noise goes away. someone told me the clutch cable just needs adjusting. What are your thoughts on this? and if you agree on the clutch cable needing adjusting, how would i do it. Thanks guys
I think thats normal, mine does it too. Forgot the explanation though, sorry. Someone care to elaborate?
Mine does it as well, My mechanic told me that it was just the gears and clutch plates turning loosely in the gearbox casing. and it is perfectly normal.
Not sure why this happens - but I will also agree as I had a similar noise on my fzr (it wasn't too loud, just noticable). If it is very noticable then something may need to be looked at...
got the same problem too, but i tend to ignore it. you get use to the noise after awhile
i get a similar rattling noise too, do you guys get it within the 6k range ? cause when im at around 6k it rattles go, past it and its quiet again
i can hear mine rattling while its idling
It's normal, the same as as thrust race on a car clutch. Just the clutch plates rattling, if that's the only problem you have then you are
I was worried about the rattling my FZR made, balancing the carbs helped a lot. My other bike does this too when it needs a carb balance, my third bike is a single cylinder, and never has to be balanced. I'm new here by the way, I got my FZR a couple of months ago and am currently fixing it up to get it back on the road.
I had to replace the clutch plates on my FZR, the first thing I noticed is that the clutch friction plates were made of alloy. The tabs on the clutch friction plates had worn a bit so were free enough to rattle against the clutch basket with the engine running.
