I decided to send my wheels off the NSR250 to be powder coated and thought, heck might as well give the brake calipers a once over. Then I thought why not hit them with some paint as the canary yellow wasn
 chris nice work i was saying to a guy the other day every caliper iv taken apart here in oz looks like the the silica in the fluid has emulsified and broke down here it just turns to sludge some worse than others but traces in every one iv rebuilt it must be the sun or no maintenance at all so guys check yr brakes one day you will need them brake that drag on are very common here clean them out remove seals and replace if necessary yr life depends on them its not how fast you can go these days its how quick you can stop safely
Hi Chris you must have a very understanding wife to let you use the close line for the painting job. Well done they look good. Good point to about looking after your brakes you never know when you will need them. changing the fluid is not a hard job and can make a big difference in performance.
The Brakes again I posted up many moons ago the need to keep those brakes clean, ie disks and the complete system. Currently I use Fuchs Dot4 not because it's any better than others but simply because the fluid is Blue. On my Honda CBR I have not one but two reservoirs to contend with and with the blue fluids I can see straight away when discoloration begins, more difficult with the darker fluids. Spent hours trying to clean the reservoir on the NSR, eventually it came good. Phil
