Hey everyone just wondering what you guys would expect to pay for a zxr250C in kinda poor condition.. It needs stuff like ignition barrel, windscreen, RHS foot peg and other bits and pieces no doubt. Yet to check it out in person but it looks quite shabby and I'm unsure of cam chain rattle as it cant be started.. Unsure if it even starts for that matter. Owner has no paperwork but apparently it checks out as not stolen etc. It apparently has 15thou kms on it which kinda low, suspect almost. He wants $400 for it. Any advice would be great for when I go check it out. Read that stickied post about what to look for when buying a used bike. I guess the worst that can happen is if its a pile of crud and I walk away. Cheers!
wants $400 you show him $250 i'd say he'll take it...... Got to be worth $400 at least in parts?? but if you have a the time the money and the effort to get it back into working order than your set, if not, consider a cheap track bike if it runs?
show him 5 orange notes after picking all the faults. be prepared to walk away and say the 5 notes are a fair price for an unrepairable piece of crap to be used for parts in the future.
Yeh for something like that I wouldn't go over $250 either - even then you're taking a bit of a punt. They're fun little bikes so I've heard but once again a bit of mucking around especially if the engine is buggered. By the way, if you can force the ignition on (if the barrel is busted) and it has a battery - nothing wrong with attempting a push start to see if it turns over!
Photos? It would sound like a better deal if it was an A model as spares for yours and no more than $200
Yeah he reckons 400 will break him even yadda yadda all that kinda story. Cheers for the advice guys. An "A" model would be ideal though, isn't part interchangeability a bit iffy when it comes to electronics on these bike too? Itd be extra tinkering and headache for me if I get it but I don't really mind that..
doesn't look too bad .... make him an offer wats life if u don't have a dunger that needs work in your garage
