    Hi Guys

Has anyone tried putting aftermarket LED indicators on their bikes? I know that the current difference would probably require a change of relay to some sort of universal kit to cover multiple currents/voltages.

Anyone done this and can recommend? Plenty of cheap bits around on ebay but if someone else has picked one and had it working I'd rather try that because it can be a real lucky dip with some of these chinese bits.

What's forcing me to do this is the bloody orange cover fell off my front indicator (given it was a chinese replacement) and to buy a stock replacement is proving either expensive or a pain in the bum (possibly both) hence looking for an alternative to permanently fix the problem.

    Cheers

You'll need to run a resistor. Go to jaycar and take the led you want to use with you. they'll give you the right resistor, just solder it on and bam! Done!

I got LEDs all 'round for my '97 Across from Thirdgear: http://thirdgear.com.au/

Fitted them without resistors and they work fine, have the right blink rate, etc.

It depends where you get them from. Some have the resistance right from the factory :)

Well after hunting around I decided to get some cheapies from fleabay so I had 4 (with 2 spare as I'm only replacing the front) sure enough needed resistors so got them from third gear (like $5.50 each including postage), good site @Little_Russy :thumb_ups:. End result is good, finding a spot for the resistors was a bit troublesome though, they get hot so should ideally be mounted onto the metal somewhere. I ended up using the indicator cable hook attached to the frame and wrapped it in tightly with a cable tie, would rather not screw into the frame as it was quite thin in that area.

They do flash faster than the originals but I always thought the originals were rather slow. Will see how they go for a while, am on the lookout for some OEM replacements - no rush now I guess.

I just bought a set of aftermarket LED indicators from 4 Wheel Online. The kit comes with set of connectors and resistor, ideally its for a Cbr600rr, but manage to fit it perfectly. Will post some pics for reference later.

You could fit a set of these led bulb's to oem indicator's (using load resistor's), being super low profile they'll fit anything
They sell for around $1.70 - $2.10 for the set of 4 inc delivery
