Hi guys.Just got a fzr my first roady. It has a stock EXUP pipe but it has a heap of tack welds all through it and it is really quite.I took it to bike shop and they said that they cant do anything with either. They suggested to put a R1 pipe on it would that be ok.

If you are talking about a stock r1 pipe it’s going to look massive. Might have better result getting a custom one made at an exhaust shop.

theres a place in liverpool behind redbaron that has heaps of fzr parts

EDIT: i pulled up next to an cbr i think it had i pipe on it because it sounded alot better then mine you could hear the roar of the exourst not just a screeming engine

As long as you are just replacing the muffler you won’t wreak your bike. It might mess with the fuelling a bit but chances are its already running rich.

Ok, well it's not going to stuff your bike aside from perhaps making it a little heavier on the right hand side!
The two main things an aftermarket exhaust system does is reduce the weight and reduce the backpressure. Fitting an R1 exhaust will definitely reduce the back pressure (although on an FZR250 backpressure isn't much of an issue even with a stock pipe), but it will increase weight. Increased weight on a 250 is the killer of ALL fun, so i'd recommend finding a light weight pipe suited to a 250 or even a 400.

Or even cheaper, a few strategically placed drill holes.
