Hi all, I am currently fixing up a 1972 CB350F, this is a four cylinder vintage bike for those that don't know the model. I bought it from a friend, it was pretty much disassembled although the motor was in tact, now slowly putting it back together. It will be for sale when complete, probably around the $1500 mark, maybe a bit more if I decide to paint it up however the current idea is to get it up to near road worthy condition and let the new owner do the bling. These bikes make awesome cafe racers and this one will be a great base for that. If any interest here let me know and come over and see it on the bike stand. It's all fun. cheers.chris www.netbikes.com.au
if you dont know Chris, he runs a website and auction site for motorcycle parts called Netbikes, the URL is www.netbikes.com.au , make sure you jump onto his site and check out his work, Im blown away by the work he is doing on his Kwakka ZXR750, what a machine. Cheers Chris
A little update on the 350, please keep in mind that I am not trying to make this a perfect restoration, the goal for this bike is to get it to a state whereby the next owner can implant their own personality into it, all you will need are a few basic tools, a desire for something different and cool, some common sense, what you don't know be happy to learn by hands on experience and don't spend every waking moment talking crap on facebook, nothing is achieved in that world. Ok here's the bike, as you can see it is looking like a bike now, I am not far off finishing to the sale stage. I am missing a wiring sub section and cannot buy it for love nor money so i will be making that up, the front guard normally has braces which I have but I did not fit as I figure for the cafe look the guard will be cut down anyway but the braces go with the sale just the same, the front brakes do not work as all the lines are blocked, I could spend the time to fix that but the lines are 40 years old now and i would recommend replacement with new braided lines and due to the angle of the ace bars a remote reservoir would work best, you can buy those at reasonable price off evilbay. I also need a clutch cover gasket before I can finish the clutch section off, I have ordered it and wait patiently, the previous owner gave me the matching red paint so I will be painting the tank and side covers again. all for now, chris. started the little beaut up today, runs really sweet, first time running for over 5 years too. Carbs are leaking so will need to attend to that soon, but overall I am very pleased with it.
I love those handle bars, how they go forward then out. I reckon that thing would look sweet with some clip ons. Awesome job cant wait to see the finished product.
they are old school bars from the 70/80's, when I see them at swaps I buy them, hard to get that style now. I could pretty this bike up a lot more but that was never my intention, it is for sale and a new owner can do the finish. I am doing a T250 cafe racer next, probably start that in a coupe of weeks time.
well last update on this one, it has sold, I got it looking pretty good though, here are a couple of pics, I did the painting myself using P & P paint, they are now defunct but i am sure someone else will be making similar paint. thanks Nat, I would have done more had it not sold so fast. I will be doing a lot more with the Suzuki T250 I am building, see thread under Suzuki. cheers.chris
yes nice but it wasn't finished, it needed a couple of more coats of clear and then wait a month and cut and polish it.
