Hi, I recently bought a CB250RSA that came with the centre stand not fitted. (The frame has previously been repaired to replace the piece that often rusts away). I tried to fit the stand, but there's nothing to stop it folding up too high where it then fouls the chain.

The bike's fitted with a Motad exhaust (silencer on the right hand side only), and from what I can tell normally the left hand silencer acts as the stop for the centre stand.

Has anyone got this bike with a Motad, and can tell me if there's something missing that would allow me to fit and use the centre stand?

    TIA

    /Simon

I don't have that exhaust but I have 3 of these bikes. There are rubber stoppers on both sides of the stock exhaust.

A pic of the exhaust on yours would help!

    Sure. https://www.flickr.com/photos/siwilson/16473185811/ and https://www.flickr.com/photos/siwilson/16473161591/

It would seem that "something" should fit into that piece sticking out of the silencer. It must be quite large, because there is quite a gap between the stand and the silencer when the left hand leg clears the chain.

I got a reply from Motad and they say the stock rubber stopper should fit onto their exhaust. So I've ordered one and we'll see how it goes.
