I am having some issues tuning my carbies at the moment and was wondering if anyone in brisbane can come have a look and help me. The mixture screws are set at 3 full screws out and it was running fine on one of the runs i did and then it went bad again.
Grrrrr this bike is driving me mad. Any ideas on how to tune them right?

if your winding the mix screws out that far it sounds like valve clearance issues to me, they MUST be correct or you will never tune it.
Common symptoms are farty running till about 2k revs, smooths out then till about 5 to 7K revs then seems to bog down. Plugs will be black and sooty and will become hard to start and then not start at all.

well ok if you insist:), other possibilities are  weak spark, this can also give problem running,  or a dirty air filter.

If you are turning the screws out 3 turns you are trying to get more fuel to the carbs right?, so for some reason it is running lean.
Blocked idle jet, blocked main jet, blocked emulsion tubes, the latter most people don't check, they are the tubes that the needle jet runs through, they usually have a passage way inside the wall that can get blocked. Also do the carbs run diapharm's, check for pin holes.

I have thoroughly checked and cleaned carbies and all is good. The manual says 3 out is reccomended setting. It's a bot of a head scratcher. Oh well I will perservere.
