    Hi All,
As some of you know I live in Timbuktoo.
I want to get hold of an instrument cluster connector boot from a Yamaha R6 wiring harness.
Sometimes people sell the front harness separately and maybe a wreckers would do that.
Please don't tell me I can use some heat shrink, electrical tape, or chewing gum.
These instrument clusters were used on quite a few models so they won't be rare. I don't really want to waste more than $20 on this as there is also the costs of post.

This is the type of gauge and here is the rubber boot.

Of course I will send you the payment via PayPal
    cheers
    Blair

The dash that you see in the pic which is then fitted to the great unwashed R4 project. With the '6' changed to a '4' of course.

R4 project? Had a quick stalk of your threads and couldn't find a build thread. Is there one on here?

No, I just allude to it now and then. I will be doing a build thread if it gets finished and as each section is done I'll add a web page on my site for that section.
Basic information for the gauge swap is here
    http://fzronline.com/wiki/doku.php?id=r6_digital_gauge_swap
but I will be using a GPS speedo sender.

Ah-ha! I wanted to do this mod. I saw one on gumtree retro fitted with digital speedo. Saw that and thought, yep, I want that in my life.

The only issue I see is the tachometer. It only goes to 18k 3ln models go to 20k!

If you've not tried it before you can visit http://www.findapart.com.au/

If you fill in the form it will send the details to all the wreckers on the list and then they send you price and mail cost if they've got any. I've used it twice now works quite well.

Am also a huge fan of Findapart, have used this excellent service for the past 5 or 6 years with good results.
As Dougfella mentioned, fill in as much details as you can and send, the service is connected across Australia and NZ.
You sit back, have a beer and await the replies. A word of warning, don't accept the 1st quote as some take a few days to respond and prices do vary.
I bought a barrel for the X7 off a wrecker in Christchurch NZ, paid for it that morning and the following afternoon delivered it to my door, how's that for service.
My advise, give it a try as you have nothing to lose, the service is free.:thumb_ups::thumb_ups:

Yeh I'd vouch for findapart as well, got my flywheel posted from brisbane for 50% of what the wreckers wanted locally. Shop around and haggle :)

Sorry, have not been able to access forum again.
Thanks all for the heads up about findapart I will give it a try.

If the tacho functions correctly at 20000 you could make a sticker to go over that pie slice and add a 20. The number would probably have a section missing where the small globe is. It could still look good though. Then you could add a logo sticker above the needle centre if you wanted to

    Something like this.

GPS sender I will be using is Skydrive made by a Canadian firm.
