while riding home yesterday I stopped at a set of lights and there was quite a bit of white smoke coming from the exhaust. Next set of lights I stopped at there was no smoke. It seemed to come and go every now and then. Any idea what could cause it? Head gasket perhaps? I had a look around the headers and there is a small amount of oil seeping from #1 cylinder. The bike is going in for a pink slip this morning so hopefully it doesn't decide to put on a smoke show while there. I have 10 days off work in July so I plan on doing the cam chain and valves during that time as I have no idea when they were last done. Any other suggestions on things that should be done while I'm at it?
Have u changed the oil? Has the bike been out on the open road for a decent long run? Put up a pic of the leak .... its probably just a few 'loose' bolts on the rocker cover
The oil and filter were changed recently and the ride to and from work is about 20kms with about 10 of it at 100km. The oil is definitely coming from the cylinder. It isn't near anything else.
Don't think I put quite that much in. I will measure next time and make sure I add the correct amount.
