Hi All, The following is from this year's Honda Broadford Bike Bonanza. Multiple parts, so read what you want. http://www.ma.org.au/index.php?id=1808 Cheers
Part 1 - Getting there From Melbourne, Broadford is about a 90 minute ride/drive. Head towards Tullamarine airport and take the Hume Highway exit before you get to the airport. Roads are good; take the Broadford exit and the track is on Broadford-Flowerdale Road, Broadford VIC 3658; sign posting is pretty good.
Part 2 - 2fiftycc The turnout this year was awesome. Plenty of bikes for all to enjoy. Weather helped attract a big crowd too. More 250cc bikes than I recall from previous years. Heaps of variety too. Not just 2-strokes & the Honda MVX250F in the pictures was one of the highlights for me...it was voted one of the worst bikes ever built by a few bike magazines due to its desire to melt the rear piston (it was a 3-cylinder 2-stroke)....details here http://tanshanomi.com/honda-mvx250f/ Also, when I took the pics of the CB250RS the owner/rider said "they're plenty of nicer bikes for you to take pictures of" I said "yes, I know but there are people who will appreciate your bike". He then tells me it's not a standard CB250RS. He is now running a XR500 engine in the bike! Does go.
Part 3 - Other bikes and bits Had a ball this year and would enter a bike next year, but there's soooo many bikes on track at the same time it's just a bit pointless other than showing off whatever you're riding. I was wearing my 2fiftycc T-shirt on Saturday and had a few people ask about it, so hopefully a few more folks will join this great forum.
love the shirt mate!!! Some serious bike porn there, cant believe someone turned an MVX250 into a racebike
Nice work. Tucked away down the bottom of part 5 was my little Kwacca AR80, next of all things, a wheelie bin. Cant belive what I used to get away with on those skinny tyres!
Yep, I love these events. They're a little different to the Island Classic and high profile events like that. Just good old fashioned fun weekend for all things motorbike. Everything from bucket racers to, as you so correctly put it, bike porn! I need to do the Barry Sheene FOS event next year, as it looks like good fun too.
