Howdy, So traced my brake problems back to the 20 year old front brake line. The stock rubber front line is nearly $120 just for the one :o and my mate just got a set of speiglers for $160 front and back (thats 3 lines total) for his zx10, so i think thats a bit rich. Has anyone gone the route of getting custom made lines before as clearly no one does them pre-made for an across and have any tips or help they could share? My only worry is the front line has a few rather tight formed kinks in it and id be worried the braided lines wouldn't make it round those curves. cheers.
There are very few aftermarket options made specifially for the Across, Im sure you can buy off the shelf brake lines, I'd just measure the length and have a chat with your local bike shop. Failing that, I have a spare genuine suzuki brake line going cheap cheers Chris
Yeah unfortunately any of the local bike shops in central sydney are as useful as a hatful of smashed a-holes >: Ended up just having a look at a friends GS500 and they look largely identical, so i've grabbed a set of HEL lines for $130 posted, shall see what happens when they show up!
HEL lines came today, a day and a half after ordering em. Awesome service there. And indeed the 89 - 94 (i think) model GS500 Front line is a swap everything lined up just sweet. Ill get back to you on the rear but im 99.9% certain thats right too, just eyeballing it up. Happy days!
