When you the apply the front brake does the reaer go on straight away or do you need to hold it firmer. On mine it seems like you have pul it pretty hard to gett he rear brake light on.
It has an adjuster built into the leaver. It is circular with the numbers 1 to 4 stamped on it. To adjust it you push the leaver forward and then turn the adjuster. The rear brake light should come on almost instantly after pulling back on the leaver. You should be able to hear a slight tick as the sensor switch is activated.
I don’t have a 2kr so I don’t know how to adjust the leaver. I was looking at a picture of one and couldn’t find a dial adjuster. Anyone with a 2kr want to enlighten us?
2kr is easy, there's a screw with a nut on it, loosen the nut and either turn the screw in or out and do the nut back up when it's where you want it. The screw is located right near the master cylinder. Turning the screw inward will make the brakes grab earlier, and outward well kinda obvious now As for the brake light, I noticed on my bike the wires near the switch on the lever are slightly dodgy so sometimes the connection isn't quite right and the lights don't go on, at the moment the wires seem to be in a good spot and the lights work fine.
is the screw the one that holds the brake lever on the bike? Could you possibly take a photo to show me..(I pretty dumb with these sort of things )

thanks for the pic, i've fixed the light going on at the right time....now a nwe problem has arised, the brake lever is pretty loose and if I tighen and then pull the lever in hard it doesn't return to the starting postion. Is it alright if it's loose?
That's a nice CLEAR pic there Tbone If the bike brakes fine, then it doesn't really matter that it's loose. Just do a test ride and see how they go and adjust accordingly. Obviously go slow at first incase they don't work properly.
I don't know if I explained it right, I have to pull the brake in a bout 2cms to apply the brakes. Is this still alright?
My brakes take about 2-3cm before they kick in. But they shouldn't be very spongey - that means, as soon as the brakes go on, the lever should begin to get fairly hard to press further in.. My light comes on way before the brakes do.
If t he problem you got is vertical movement of the lever it's cause the lever is made from cheap alloy and the bolt hole flogs out easily as well as the housing. Only fix is a new one or shimming. Some levers have a bush but they cost more. As for soft brakes they might need a bleed, and maybe a set of pads. Brakes feel nice and tight till they are about half way worn then the extended lever travel starts getting noticable and they tend to be spongier, thats just life.
