My bike was sold to me without a battery. Can anyone tell me the part number to various battery makers (yuasa, exide, etc.)? I have an 89 EXUP 3LN

I'm a qualified mechanic, and I bought the bike with the assurance that mechanically the bike is fine. I knew going in that it has some issues. I have bought and rebuilt several rare motorcycles (the FZR is ultra rare over here) so I'm not that concerned. Also, the bike only had 15,700 Kilometers on it.

Thanks Raptor. The YB10 sounds like a Yuasa. What brand is the other one?

the part#12N10 is generic for all other brands, it a 12v 10 amp battery and i could be wrong on this -3A might mean the polarity of the terminals, as they are reversed on the FZR's

As a rule, I usually use brake pads/rotors as an indicator of a bikes milage. But that can be misleading in some cases. I therfore use several other indicators to determine if the odometer has the true milage. First and foremost is the brakes, second is the chain/sprockets (stock or aftermarket). Third, small telltales like wear on the footpegs, seat foam, amount of bent radiator fins (more milage means more large bugs, great indicator of milage). The bike I have has some signs of high miles (worn brake pads and footpeg rubbers). However some of the more important indicators are good. The rear brakes and front rotors are like new, only the front pads are gone. The chain, while stretched, is still the factory continuous unit. Very little rock chipping on the lower fairings and rear inner fender. And most importantly, the radiator doesn't have one bent fin, not one! This bikes kilometers are real, but it was probably ridden hard in the mountains or at track days.

I'm gonna side with metralla. This bike was more than likely imported from Canada and they did get the FZR250 new (if I remember correctly).
