Any of you guys ever wheelie your 250 if so tell us about it and the experience if not let us know why. I'll go first I got my bike up on the first try. Went 20kmh rev it to 12 on rmp meter then dump the clutch. She went up so fast man i was scared. I let go of the throttle, then bang( my balls <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: --> <!-- s:o --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_surprised.gif" alt=":o" title="Surprised" /><!-- s:o --> ) The bike landed hard. The other time was by a fluke. I pulled off the starting line and did a whellie was unexpected. I eventually gave up though. I wanna take care of the bike and rather get a bigger one with more horse to wheelie.
I have, but only once intentionally (though with different technique than you did). Intentional: While going around 20 km/h I pushed down on the front forks and as I then leaned back slightly I also accelerated a small bit. This caused quite a controlled wheelie - nothing extreme but I didn't want to scare myself the first time (which I did anyways). This method was suggested by my future father-in-law who said it was a good way to learn and get comfortable before you use the 'drop the clutch' method. Works on light bikes, not heavier ones. Others: as with you - when off the line I. I can do this semi-reliably (maybe 60% of the time that I try). Usually as I feel the front wheel starting to get light though I back off, but not always.

wheelie Ive done heaps of nice ones. Ive done your method, boz method and the method where u get the bike around 13,000rpm shut the throttle let the front forks compress for around a second if that then hit throttle hard again while pulling up this pulls the wheel up nice and u can sit it there for awhile. Remember when pulling wheelies u HAVE TO land slowly and smoothly BECAUSE if u dont you are smashing your head bearings, fork springs, fork seals, wheels and tyres. On a larger CC bike eg. 600cc + u can wheelstand very very easy because the power is downlow. I have done one where I was riding along at 60km/h and clutched it at 14,000rpm and dumped and the wheel just shot up but because of the speed it went up at it wasnt controlled. well i was searchin the net for the wheelie thing ... i just bought a fzr250(second hand)... so i was tryin some wheelies earlier ... couldnt get it up ... so u say cluthing at 12000rpm ... sounds scary man !!! anyways i will give it a shot ... lets see how it turns out to be this is my other bike karizma 200 ~16,6 bhp.. and thats me on the bike . PS : how much beating will the clutch plates, the forks , and the engine take while dooin this ?

thank you dean . Actually we have a smalltime club called RSA(Rubber Smokin Angels). we try to do whatever that is possible on our tiny bikes. Jarmizz... thats what i was thinkin too dude ... imagine i got the bike for 150000 INR . that too second hand . imagine the spares have to be imported and that too with a 140% duty !!

WTF??? 3400 USD for a 250?????????????? I paid 3000USD for my 95 1000 and then put another 5800 into the bike... That is similar in Australia too! In most states in Australia new riders are required to not ride anything larger than 250cc's while they are learning, and for 1 year after getting their license. It is not uncommon to find a sports 250 with 20 000 k's on teh clock going for $5500 AUD (3850 USD). Can often find larger bikes much cheaper, only because there are more on the market and less demand.
hello .. so guys i finally decided to sell off my FZR .. it was too problematic , and the clutch plates were ruined. besides the fact that the clutch plates were no longer availible ( as per my mech) . now he has given me 2 options ... 1 94' gixxer 750 2 97' cbr 400rr please guys let me know what do ya think . ** both bike will cost me arround ... 6000 usd .

i'd go the suzuki route too personally. But I am quite biased against cbr's specifically (all too common here). I don't mind some of the other honda's though...
yeah, I think there are way to many CBRs on the road, the rarity of the FZR was another reason I liked it (and it looks as good as the CBR). Looks better than the suzuki's and zzrs which have the big long seat - ruins the look in my opinion. FZRs look sportier. only drawback is the scarcity of parts - harder to get as they're a grey import. Gixxers are meant to be good reliable bikes though...
