Fuel would pool at the other end of that hose. But you knew that ;)

I have a heavy fuel leak from one of my carbys out of the overflow tube that leads down to the bottom of the bike.

Should I bite the bullet and pay someone to fix this or ...

What are my other ( less expensive) options ?

    Thanks
    Ben

That would mean your floats are set too high or your needle and seat are worn , the instructions to set the height are in the manual in the resource section

There seems to be an echo in here ..... if u read all the posts that Ive now combined into 1 thread you will find the solution to your problem has been answered more than once.

The hardest thing to get right on an older bike is the carburettor ... and in your case u have 4 ..... now half the posts on this forum are carb related ..... read my thread "My Fizzer" and will see what a carb problem can entail.

Now as kiffsta has eluded to , to save u paying off the bike mechanics house .... do this

Download the manual and parts lists ...
    http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?resources/categories/gsx250f-across.44/

Read up on the fuel section
Order some new needles and seats ... and wateva else should be replaced (look at other threads about Across carbs)
Pull the carbys off the bike
Clean them as they are supposed to be cleaned and reassemble with the new bits ensuring float heights are correct and pilot screws and wateva are set to stock.
Replace the fuel lines and clamps and the fuel filter and make sure theres no crap/sediment in the tank
Give your mum or wife a kiss and go for a ride

Or, if it wasn't leaking fuel before you did your "across adjustment" undo whatever you did.

Not happy with benriches, you jinxed my bike:lolsign:. Now my carbs are leaking after I played with them:headbang:. I think mines due to the bowl seal, or the float measurement.but i had to cook my steak so no time to check)

Well I just tried it again and its leaking from the overflow. So I think its time to put a kit through mine. I checked the float needle and it seems fine to me so could be float height or needle seat thats causing it to flow. Anybody know where I could get a kit from and whats included.

You would need a microscope to check the float needles .....and a new one to compare

Just get a new set ... they are cheap enough.

    Hello

I had similar issue with mine, fuel running out bottom. Not sure if it has been mentioned ( had quick read of above posts) but my issue was the O ring on the needle seats. They were not making a complete seal, had to be replaced.

The needle seat should sit really tight.
