    Hi All,
400greybike.com is going read only just to keep the information available. I guess people just use Facebook or something now. I have no idea why. It looks totally useless to me.
    Cheers

I would say the Admin doesnt have the time and/or finance to run it

It takes alot of personal computer time to run it correctly
These days theres so much spam and fake member registrations ... even with things like Captcha
Apart from your average member being useless online or cant spell or comprehend for shite so its continual editing so a post even makes sense to readers sometimes.

Then theres the cost .... the domain, business web hosting (due to our massive resources and photo size etc we have to have business level, for the server space ) and security certificates
Luckily the "Premium Membership" income keeps things afloat with of course the occasional donation.

And if ol mate is noticing fewer posts , fewer new members and a general "lack of interest" , then I cant say I blame him.

That's too bad. At least read-only will leave valuable data available. Facebook and social media platforms are horrible for storing and retrieving technical information.

There was originally an FZR250.com forum but it "folded" ..... it was initially a bunch of young guys who had those bikes as LAMs and knew very little about them , but then moved on to larger bikes mostly
To save the information we imported the whole forum to here and archived it
Most of it should have suffered the "delete button" :D

Facebook is virtually useless for any data/information retrieval, which is their plan, they can collect, collate and data match for billions of users

Their screwed up and useless search is to keep people on the site wasting their time, all of that user time is also logged and sold as audience time to advertisers

    It's a rort
