Both Dale and the 3MA have now left Australia.
He decided to keep it after not being able to sell it before he left.

That is a 2MY (which is the same as a 1KT and 2MA). These are the ones that I love.
    Just like my race bike:

    Hey Noah,

It's the first of the series (1KT). I bought it as a none runner and it's been at the back of my shed on and off ever since. Just received a new Coil from the UK so hopefully that will be the final step in getting her running again.

As I said it's the 1kt model and it's chassis number 146 with matching engine number. I've always liked the TZR and when the opportunity came along to buy one of the first made I took it (even though I didn't have any time to get her running and her condition was not so good).

I like your bikes. I have an RZ250R for track days that I'm preparing for period 6 racing this summer. Unfortunately, my ZX2R drag bike is taking a lot of my time...too many projects (I sound like a seller on eBay!).

    Cheers

    Hey Noah,

Me too. Rescuing old bikes is fun and frustrating all at the same time. I've just finished putting new bushes in the RZ's rear swing-arm (see pick). You'd love the tank from my RZ...it's mint, the inside looks like the day it left the factory. Very rare from what I understand. Will post another pic for you when it's all back together.

    Cheers

Noah & mboddy (& anybody else),

Firstly, I hope you both had a great xmas and that 2014 will be a bumper year for you and the rest of the guys and gals on this site.

Now, onto the serious business. I recently pulled the TZR out and did a bit of work trying to get her to run. New coil and plugs did nothing (positive) so I've pulled the carbs off and started to give them a once over. Mine are Mikuni TM28SS (I think they all are on the 1KT/2MA). During the removal process I realised these things have had a hard life. The boots are stuffed. They've split and someone has tried to seal them with Silastic. They appear to be badly in need of replacing. Also, the Reed valves are different as one has a different shaped curvy bit to the other. And finally, the screws on the bowl of one carb are so rooted I'm going to have to drill them out! I pulled the bowl off the the other carb and it was full of gunk. I also noticed that the float has a special little clip that is attached from the tang to the needle/seat...is this normal? I can't seem to see it in any of the Mikuni diagrams I've looked at. It likes like when the bowl fuel level drops it pulls the needle/seat out with it.

Do either of you have a pair of boots and reed valves for this bike? If not, any suggestions about finding parts locally? Done the ebay and google thing, so I can get some of these from uncle sam or the UK, but want to get them locally if at all possible.

    Cheers guys.
