Contacted Uniflow regarding a listing on their website for 91-98 FZR air filters, asking if they were identical/compatible with the yamaha part number. Here's what they said

    "Hi Jack

Our filter UF300 190 is a replacement for the 3LN-14451."

Obviously the original part is rarer than heifer's bollocks, and I had tried earlier in the year to source them but had no luck anywhere.Has anybody tried the one from these guys? I'm surprised I missed them during my earlier search. going to take a punt on one and will report back with photos etc, if they are identical this is a huge deal for us 3LN owners.

It's on this page under FZR 91-98, 100AUD (pricey but if it's the business definitely worth it, you'd get scalped twice as hard with impex or the like)

I would request a photo of the filter before purchase

Their listings are incorrect also ..... the first 3LN is 1989 , which they have under the 2KR years

Hopefully their UF300 190 is correct for the 3LN

Well spotted, that aligns more closely with the FZX250 production years - Zeal 250

FZX250 and 2KR might well share the same or similar filter.

As far as I know, 3LN is unique, OEM have never been available in my time looking and aftermarket is non-existent.

i bought one... they are crap, would need trimming if you really wanted to try and make it fit, and the airflow is wrong anyway. I would not recommend buying one. i will dig up the offending wildly expensive oily foam and take a picture

Roger. Yeah I emailed back asking for a photo and promising a bunch of sales if it's legit ... That's disappointing. Thanks for clarifying!

my attitude is that if and when i finally need a new filter...

just find something the same size as the element itself from car, mower, whatever. chop chop. graft it into the housing, glue her in, done.

iirc, even the lil square elements at bunnings should do the trick.

the restrictions in the snorkel, not the filter.

as i am yet to find an airbox that hasnt had the screws flogged out, probably an idea to invest in a few "heatserts" or even the timber cabinet threaded screw thingies and give them some proper machine threads...

i wish people would back turn screws in plastic to the click before going gorilla on them...
