The first thing you may need to do is
    1) remove your starter- its quite simple, unbolt the 2 hold down bolts (in my bike i had to remove a small water line held down by 4 allen type bolts). You then push the starter to the right, the only thing holding it down now is a small oring.
    2) now the starter is removed you can start to open it up. Before continuing you should put match marks so reassembly is easy. Remove the 2 bolts to the back of the starter. The starter should split in 3 pieces. Take a look at the starter shaft and the bushings it is running on, is it dry? Well if so that may be your problem. The starter bushings must be lubricated with grease as to run smooth. I use graphite grease on mine.
Before greasing run some smooth emry sand paper on the shaft to clean it. DO NOT let grease touch the brushes or any electrical wires. ONLY put a litte on the shaft and bushings.
    3) Reassemble your starter, Remember the match marks.
I do hope this helps you.
