I'm down on the Gold Coast, but there are a good number of guys racing CBR250RR in Brisbane.
Track it and live you dreams rather than reading about how a good a time I'm having ;)
    Cheers

:lolsign: That's true. I will be in touch when I get it up and running with the help of Chris and Phil :D

But what I'm interested in now is what mods did you do to your cibby to prep it? Are you still using the stock carbys with different jetting or is it something else entirely? anything else? I'm really curious lol. I haven't seen people race prep their bikes in flesh

I've just started putting our team site together - there is a bike prep page that lists what we do - no photos yet. Busy sorting out my race report from 2 weekends ago. But standard carbies with different jets is all, and foam air filter.
    Check out the details:

.........and we have a go-er :D Vrrroooommm Vrroooommm Spent the evening working on the bike with Phil and Chris. She started first go and idles pretty well after changing spark plugs and engine oil but still a bit hesitating and a soft spot when turning the throttle. Phil reckons a good carby clean and balance would do the trick to fix that up:thumb_ups:

Overall the engine sounded healthy but she is still going to need some bits and pieces to be registerable

    parts needed:
    Fork seals
    Choke cable
    H-bar(and screws)
nose fairing or new set of fairings
    uncut undertray
    mirrors
    rider seat
    two front signals

PS. no broken ceramic this time working under supervision of pros:lolsign: But getting to the third spark plug was a pain, thank god I have tiny hands:dance2:

Special thanks to Chris and Phil for helping out to get it started and sorted out. Changing spark plugs was painful but I had fun working together with them both. Endless jokes and humours:party: Thanks guys

When Yongs bike showed up, there was enough charge in the battery for it to start, although poorly and would die after 30 seconds. I charged his battery for him and when he showed up, we changed the plugs, oil and filter. The choke cable was removed as it has ceased solid . I hit the starter and she fired up and idled, plenty of cheers. What we did notice even after it had warmed up was that the carb's are in need of a balance, they are hunting. I also fixed the thermo fan which had been grounded and was always on, I ran it for a bit and the fan kicks in as designed. I will try and post a video later of it.

Roughly how long till the fan should kick in when the bike is at a standstill running? .... Ive yet to see it run on the Fizzer but I havnt attempted to troubleshoot it apart from testing that the fan motor was ok.

I can vouch for that, my cbr1100 caused me no end of worry when I first bought it. In traffic in the city 102c before the fan cut in, took it to my mechanic and was told that Honda's run hot. Called on a Honda dealer and got the same answer, you know what they say? If worrying helps, by all means worry. Shortly after I stopped worrying:lolsign:

Was good to catch up with yong, think he got himself a reasonable good machine. I tried hard to get his choke working, that thing was seized solid. Choke 1 / wd40 nil. Honestly think that once the carbs are done and sorted the hunting will be gone.. The engine seemed to rev easily enough, few cosmetic issues sorted and she will be on the road.
Was going to try and recover yongs seat until Chris pointed out that parts needed stitching, a stapple gun I can do but a sewing machine- NO WAY!!!
Spent a couple of fun hours with yong, we did make some progress and had a few laughs along the way.:lolsign:
