Hi Guys, sadly I have given up on my ZXR250A project as it is beyond me. The motor turns over but had very low compression on all cylinders. Started to pull it apart but spares are hard to come by. Head gasket well and truly blown but nothing seems to be broken. I would like to offer it to someone on this forum on condition that they take the whole bike and arrange pickup in Melbourne. I would like to see it go to someone who will restore it or to someone who could use it to keep another bike on the road. If I do not get any interest it will go on ebay.

    Item Name - 1989 Kawasaki ZXR250A
Item Description - Complete bike partially stripped. See photos.
Item Price - Free to someone who will take it on as a restoration project or for parts to keep another bike on the road.
Other info - 55k Km. Rare good fuel tank.
    Contact Details - darylschafer@yahoo.com.au
    Location - Melbourne

Please note that I will not part out or arrange transportation. Let me know if you are interested or if you have any questions.
    Regards
    Mungo

Yes...I've contacted @Mungo and said I'll take it. I will probably need to source a 250C engine as 250A rings and several other parts are impossible to source. An engine transplant might be all she needs. I'm guessing Mungo will contact sometime today and I can go and pick the bike up.

nothing is impossible to source- just more difficult and expensive.some of my toys that are not on public show were damn expensive.glad someone can use it.saved me a trip after a troll attacked me.

@Frankster has collected the bike so it has found a new home. Enjoy! Glad that it has gone to someone who will make good use of it. Thanks for the interest shown.

I hope so. Will give it a good going over in the next few days to see what's needed. It might make a good track bike if I can source another engine. It been dropped a couple of times so I need to make sure the frame is straight before doing anything. I will start a thread once I start this project.

Big thanks to Mungo for his generosity. He has a VTR250 so he's still one of us.

    Cheers

    Frank
