    Hi grey import
Thanks for the advice I joined and got the manual.
I check the valve clearances last night only one was a little tight on the exhaust side but other than that the others were all good.
I think the issue has to be in the carbs.i pulled the diaphrams out but I could not see any holes or tears in them any suggestions on what to do next ??

if its racing on idle, there has to be an air leak somewhere

Check your carb boot and airbox seals, an air leak will result in a high idle or the revs dropping below idle speed when you release the throttle or give the bike a tiny bit of throtle

Thanks everyone for your help so far if you watch the vid on the previous page you will see what I mean with the idle
I plane on putting silicone paste on the top cover off the diaphram and put Vaseline on the diaphrams hopefully that may do the trick

Make 100% the diaphragms are seated in the groove in the top of the carby before fitting the lid

Where does it mention the correct pilot screw positions etc? I can't find it in mine.
I'm having a different issue, my bike wont start, it gets close and when i restrict the airflow with my hand over the intake I get a small glimmer of hope but i've rejetted teh carbs so i might go back to standard size until i can sort it.

    Hi Ben
I did read it in the manual somewhere but around 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns out
if it's not firing check the plugs and the valve clearances
Also check the vacuum line of the tank it has a one way valve my one was wrecked which was letting fuel into the back if the carby so as a temp measure we plugged the vacuum line off the tank and the carby and it fired up

Thanks for the tip, I set mine to 2 1/2 turns out, and its racing so I might reset them and try again. Fuel line is good now.

If I can stop mine racing up ill let you know how I did it

Sounds to me like it is running on one cylinder. Or do you already know that?

We took the covers off the carb diaphragms and the diaphragms themselves were fine so put some hi temp silicone around the covers and that stopped it racing up so I guess it was a vacuum leak we have since ordered a new petcock repair kit but we haven't tried it yet as I have been painting the tank and other parts
