Well, if you can do it yourself then that would save you a mint. Expect to pay $200-300 for what will amount to a $60 oil and filter change. Just use a good quality bike oil, although I run Valvolene DuraBlend 10W-40 and is ok in the FZR.

If you have a set of ring spanners, metric hex keys and an empty ice cream bucket and a couple of hours to spare then do it yourself.

    Things to do will include
    [*] Adjust the chain tension
[*] Lube the throttle and exup cables and check freeplay
    [*] Neck bearing check
[*] Wheel bearing check (more of a problem on dirt bikes after riding thru water)
    [*] Check brake pads

    If you are really serious
[*] Change the fork oil. (very easy job if you know how)
[*] Flush out old brake fluid with new. (Contaminates with water after a few years and corrodes caliper cylinders)

oh yeah, u bet they do... and this is excatly what the guy told me at a local toronto yamaha dealer... (after they told me they wouldn't be able to get hold of a japanese version of the service manual for my 3ln3)

"well yeah, we would still be able to service your bike. we can just use the specs for other yamaha 250s"

and i thought... wtf... how about engine? that's why i would not like to trust the dealer.. but rather i would find myself a shop that have done alot of R6...

btw a friend my be able to hook me up with a japanese service manual in japan.. if i do get it i'll post a new manual for the 90+ fzr250s.. and i'll finally start renovating my bike.. heh
