0-80 seems real quick but it slows down abit from there, i have heard that if u absolutly flog it u can get 5 secs and ive even herd 4.2sec which seems highly unlikely.... i will have to test

Id be pretty surprised with 5 seconds even.....1/4 mile times would be more accurate....

If you compare it to a car....the fzr 0-100 is probably about as quick as a stock v8. Ive dragged my mates vn 5.0, its not stock..but an auto, and he passed me when I was about 80-90km/h

And I cant see v8's doin 5 sec 0-100 lol.

without facts i'd assume about th 7-8sec mark...

5secs aint gonna happen and the 1/4 would dissapoint... but then again theyre not built for that sort of thing... if you want to have a little more fun on the whizzbangers... simply change the sprockets (gear it down) for higher/quicker revs and faster off the mark pace... oh and not to mention the little wheelie funfactor

lose one tooth in the front and go up two in the rear if you can find a sprocket to suit... you will notice a difference with one less in the front alone...

ok ive never timed myself
im goin by the figures from bruntingthorpe when they took all the rgvs, rs's, kr1s out for quartermile runs. most we're in the low 4 seconds. but i did read on a fact sheet of the rgvs that with an optimal start you can squeeze under 4 sec.

and have you ever tried against a 600cc...the rgvs get off their ass at the same pace. it isnt untill about after 100kmph that the 600s taake off, but up untill then the rgv matches. an rgv will blow away a 400 piece of piss.

believe me or not its up to you
im not havin a go at you fzrs, because i love the fzr aswell. so dont think im here just to stir yas up

and yes they are just a play toy
i wouldnt recommend one for commuting between gold coast and brisbane. youd hafta refuel every 130kms

theyre really for weekend fun and blowin off 400's

but the power is quite amazing for a quarter litre

well lately i have been refueling every 120k's because at 120 i have go on reserve even though i have a reasonable amount of fuel. i usually fill up 7-8litres, i have heard the tank is 14 litres, my reserve must be out or something. i thought this was the problem ages ago, but then someone said they had 10 litre tanks with 1.1 res so i looked on the net and they said 14litres, im confused now

my housemate used to have an rz250rr (a mid 80's yamaha 2 stroker - kept up with the older rgv's, doubtful it would with the new ones due to weight). But it could beat my fzr off the line any day. I could believe the 0-100 of the rgv being around 4 seconds as I have heard of fzr's etc. getting around the 5-5.5 second mark.

My current bike (yzf750) reportedly can do 0-100 in 3 seconds (thanks to an article Tim send me ). And it keeps going strong from there... The savings of that 0.6 seconds is probably because I wouldn't need to shift, whereas the rgv would be in 3rd gear at 100 probably...

yeah well i went out for a ride with me old man. he was on his goldwing and i was on my rgv. we had drags from a 20kmph rolling start. the first time i didnt have her in the powerband to begin withand he stayed with me on the gold wing for a few seconds untill of course i got her in the sweet spot.
second time i started in the powerband and left him for dead. however he said he was listening to me and as i was changin into 4th gear he was only just about to change into second.
didnt realise goldwings had that much oommpha

the strokers are so picky, for them to perform well, they gotta be the right temp and right revs before they do anything special

i have herd of hayabusa's at redline in first gear get speeds 130km/h or some ridiculour speed. My fzr has trouble getting to 120km/h sometimes but most of the time it will go to 140 and not miss a beat

I took my 1000 to 10 grand (11k redline) in first and it was an indicated 64mph (121kph). No too bad, but I haven't run it up in any of the other gears and really paid attention. Usually just concentrating on what's going on around me instead. Next time I'm in a position, I'll check 2nd and 3rd. 4th and 5th for me are pointless to try any where within 100 miles of where I live.
