Are the ring grooves clean? No carbon in them?
Can you measure the thickness of the rings and compare to your old ones.

So here's a quick update guys.

    This is crazy!!!!

So I thought that these Pistons that I pulled out of this bike were .25 over bore........ After trying about 5 sets of .25 over rings from different sellers none fit right.

I typed 56.25 which it said on top of the Pistons. Into ebay and found that these looked exactly like the DS6 Pistons. Same standings everything.

When I gave my heads and jugs to my machinist. You told me that the Pistons were a little snug, he was able to hone out the cylinder to match. Thought that was odd considering at the time I thought they were stock pistons.

But now it seems that someone in time had board the cylinders .25 over, and installed DS6 pistons.

Not sure what that does to the bike maybe more power?.

At any rate what a nightmare this was and I'm glad I finally have the correct piston rings

I engraved DS6 onto the top of the Pistons so future owners won't go through the head aches I have[IMG]

hello, I have same bike. Check the coil with a flashlight battery to see if its sparking. When rebuilding i had to replace mine on other yamaha and they are affordable. Look up you tube video on testing coil with flashlight battery, its been my newest trick.

I have had trouble finding a wiring diagram for this model of yamaha, if you find one post it please. Picture0524171656_1.jpg
