So this, basically (this is 2 40 degree arcs which should give +/- 10deg travel) . I'm waiting on more 3d filament to arrive. I'll try and print it and test fit it tomorrow.
@GreyImport We should move this to a unique thread. @DamnitLaverty do you agree? The index holes are definitely left of the T/BDC centerline, but what I was getting at is that more importantly- they're at different distances from center- ever so slightly. They're not symmetrical (1.9 and 2.4mm from the edge of the center hole) to prevent upside down installation I guess. It'll make creating those index arcs a little tougher- I can't just draw a circle at X distance from center and cut two grooves out. That said, with the turbo though, I'm wondering if you might wanna retard it overall- trade timing for boost level maybe? Look at how all the turbo LS guys go, they might never get over 12-15* total timing. If you knock 10 degrees out and gain 2lb of boost before detonation, it might be a decent trade? Sorry, I didn't realise the alignment holes were different distances from the centre of the wheel. In that case, your design from the previous post (image below) is the right way to go. We just need something on the wheel to align it to the 'standard' position for setting valve clearances (2nd image). I'm not sure about timing for turbo applications, but I do want to run advance on my normally-aspirated drag bike, so slots works for both.
So, I added an index hole a couple MM above the slot to TDC side as an index for the bolt, not a TDC indicator... like so. Im not sure we really care about a BDC mark, since they're keyed to each other. One gets you the other. I'ma print this in a bit- I think as it goes to account for laser cutting, I'm more inclined to cut a TDC slot in the wheel, and a couple of 1mm round windows to account for the -20 Firing window, and the stock index. I definitely don't have the ability to engrave/etch timing marks.
This is definitely drifting into project territory, and out of 'what I did today' territory. I got no problem with a move, but if we make this happen, it's not a profit center- it's a community service once my costs are covered.
Under the Forums section you can find all sorts of categories. One is Other Projects - Other Bikes (non 250's) Just go in there and create a new thread. Then copy your posts and place them in your new thread. You can't expect @GreyImport to do it. This thread is just for "Today I changed my oil" type of fun trivia.
you're not wrong... but it is Friday night, and I've been on the sauce. As a dude who's moderated forums for what might honestly be called decades now, you're doin' it right looking out for @GreyImport though. This community is on all of us.
Thats the cutest v8 that ever v8'd! what IS THAT? Who do I get that from? I want, I need, I must have!
It has become apparent, if a herd of CBR250R's are left alone, in the dark, nekid,,strange things happen
It’s time to finally change the sand blaster to a Vapour Blaster Some final wiring to be done for the foot pedal and air solenoid but it is getting there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
They all sound the same, regardless of looks, actually, with 2 cranks, the sound can be changed any time you want I'd be interested in any other pics of your inheritance Garry,, did you ever see,,, https://imgur.com/a/FWYivwM?fbclid=IwAR2PEki8BULGz9-dXLVIpxpfP4Cj7yP_w_i4W_E21sb9d5Jt5Wek0dgYCr0
Interesting. That little SAE V8 choked by the tiny intake restrictor they have to run. All that valve area and no way to get an advantage from it.
OK Just finished cleaning the footrest brackets and have fitted the triple clamp loosely, put brake arm bracket in and attached swing arm New Shocks ordered from the UK and Pirelli Sport Demon Tyres on the way I am a long way off but I can see the light ha ha ha
