... Because I have one in the shed. It's a bit rough, and I probably can't too much of the work done by the previous owner. Has anyone been down this path and is willing to share their experiences? I already have a few MC22's and an RGV VJ21, sorry I'm essentially trying to get my collection of quarter litre bikes. If you'd be up for a phone call send me a PM. Cheers.

Get good at dropping the headers to change the oil filter, as its on the underside of the sump on the 3LN1. 3LN3 and newer have a spin on filter
@Joker had a 3LN3 sump or 2 of them on ebay, then you can use a spin on filter. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/1egAAOSwrBJa5Viz/s-l1600.jpg
Golden nugget right there mate. I've got a spare donk from a 3ln3 amongst the crates of spares AMD didn't know that was an option.
@simidau , don’t your race fairings fit fzr250’s ? Simon from teamtiger.com.au has fibreglass fairings for mc22’s, he is on the Gold Coast, I believe the mould was taken from a fizzer , Simon’s brother was racing a fzr a few years back

Cheers fellas. This is all great info. I've got Simon's fairings on my MC22 and didn't realise that's where the mould had come from. I've got a few spare MC22 street fairing lying about so I'll probably mock up fairing brackets to suit and get another set off him. @fnq_fzr has also given me some good starting points so I'll get out the back and get tinkering. It currently has 3LN3 carbs on it (just pulled them apart for an inspection, cleaning and seeing what jet settings were in them). It had different jets in it, shagged bits here and there and different needles at different heights across the thing. I've gone with 100's in 1&4 with 97.5 in 2&3 as per some threads I've read. All the needles are now CT9's on 3rd position, I'll try and find some shims for 2&3 and go up a notch as per another thread (I think thats what the recommendation was). The old plugs were black and covered in fuel, probably from a couple of hours try to start the thing from the previous owner. I'll get some fresh CR9Ek's. If there is any great progress I'll be sure to post pics and description.
Jaycar have the 3mm washer's, pack of 25 for $3 https://www.jaycar.com.au/3mm-flat-steel-washers-pk-25/p/HP0430
I know of a bloke with a few tzrs, I may be able to pinch some spare fairings to see how far off they are. Good news is the bike ran today, started very easily with choke, and once some heat in the engine it started well without it. Rev'd easily, but the dash is dead so I had no taco, temp gauge or oil light to guide me so I didn't risk anything. No noise, and no smoke so far from the engine. One carby bowl had a leak so I'll get onto some fresh orings for the whole carb setup. I've also ordered some fresh rubbers for cylinder to carb as they're all showing signs of ageing. I'll follow some of these links and see what I can see. Cheers again to all
And do you all still run the EXUP? Is it worth deleting for a race bike as we live in the >14k RPM band?
Haha, I've definitely been looking on your site. I may need the 3ln3 kit though due to changed carbies from previous owner. I've attached a photo of my jet housing.
Anyone have the front fairings off their bike and can tell me where the grey wire of the tacho is connected to please? The FZR400 workshop manual circuit diagram shows a direct connection to the coils, but I'm not seeing this on the little 250. My dash was trashed and not working at all. I've got the oil and neutral lights going, and the temp gauge, but I can't quite workout the pickup for the tacho
Does it maintain the grey colour or does it change? I have no grey wire heading towards the old plug.
