Cut all the heavy steel to make my hydraulic press, so I can play gearbox nonsense, and my OEM R1 clip-ons arrived.
I really do hate previous owners with no mechanical sympathy at all.. A simple job of changing the front disc and front and rear brake pads on the Spada turned into a nightmare... Front wheel off easy enough... I was prepared for some difficulty with the disc bolts.. a bit of heat and the loctite released easy.. so that was fine. Then I come to the front caliper... the cover for the hanger pin is mangled to the point of needing to use a punch and hammer to get it undone... then the hanger pin has been done up with a rattle gun to the point where the correct size allen key wont bite at all... so heat and vice grips get that one out.. reassemble the front end... new pads in (everything cleaned up) but some rod in place of the hanger pin till I can buy a new one. Low and belold... the same numpty did the same thing on the rear caliper.. surely you would think they learned by their mistake.. this one needed a bit more heat as they hadnt used any antiseize and it was in nice and tight... GRRRRRRRRRR So now, hopefully my local Honda dealer will have both pins and cover plugs available.. After that it should be fine for a Blue Slip.. although I probably wont get there before Christmas at this rate... too much work stuff between now and then
Took the R6 for a good ride with some mates down through the national park, macqaurie pass and kangaroo valley for lunch and back home. Running sweet.
Ordered the parts I need from Honda... all of $28 but need to come from Melbourne. Meh... too much to do work wise to worry about fixing the Spada.. I am still going at 11.30 tonight.. who would have thought people would still have money for pumps... let alone any water to pump in Northern NSW at the moment but if the orders and enquiries are anything to go by... there is still plenty of both out there.
Anyone ever look into stuck coils for the zxr 250 ? Seen it done on the 400 seems like a very worthwhile thing to do Sent from my Redmi 5 Plus using Tapatalk

Not quite today, but last thursday i went for a bit of a ride past Oakbank to pick up some pushbike parts. Came home and.put my bike away, the next day i realised i didn't put the key back on my keyring I've been looking for them since then. Luckily today i remembered that i took a photo of the key with the code written on it and spent an hour looking through thousands of photos on my pc. Finally found it and made a few phone calls, my local locksmith asked me to sent him a picture to see if he can make one. He text me back and he can supply and cut them, so now i'm heading over to pick up 2x new keys, $42 for the pair all cut and ready to go. I have been meaning to have a spare cut since i bought the bike, lucky i thought ahead to take a photo of my key incase i lost it. Generic photo off the net
@Linkin .... good vision right there ..... and I dont mean how cool u look ... Im talking about where your eyes are looking ..... lets test all u skilled/flunky riders here ... who knows what Im referring to? And we need to get that R6 up alongside the 675 ... if it will keep up
I thought you might have been referring to the line he was riding: stay out wide so you can see further around the corner.
And you need to shift your bodyweight off the bike a bit more. What happened to 'kissing the mirror'? Nice photos.
