Wait til you get a go on my ZXR... though I am a bit lighter, still way above standard preload settings. You won't want to go back, and might even start assembling your ZXR
Yea the Fizzer was weird to ride since me being lighter ... annoying, as I was sliding all over the seat when before my fat arse was planted ..... For Texas Im trying to change a few little things to make it better and maybe a little 'different' like the forks , which I will also raise up the triple tree , Ive set the pre on the rear way softer too and Ill put a few PSI less in the tyres also ..... I also put the muffler from the pink lady on as its unmolested , unlike mine ... its so much quieter ... so Ill think Im on a different bike out on the open road
Had to use a extension bar, got to poke through a panel hope. Used a big bar, foot on brake but the clutch would slip. Someone else's probably, now. They collecting tomorrow. And yes, I tried both direction, and hammering the bolt tho shock any corrosion. On another note, went dirt biking today. Unfortunately, one mate might have a broken wrist.
Finally got all the projects out of the way to work on zxr - my bike, supposed to ride next week on the trip! When you take so long getting back to it, you start wondering what goes where, what are these parts and do they belong to this bike, and why are there so many screws left over? After a bit, I had most things sorted, leave the fairings off the sides to wash the oil off it. But we'll put the tank on and run it to double check it's running right. Not starting, thought about it at full throttle with no choke. Have look about, and noe hydralocked. It had been so long that my clean, resealed (thanks, Blair) carbies now have to be pulled out and cleaned... No roadworthy and rego this weekend. :'-(
Sourced 2 replacement headlight globes for the ZXR, changed the rear pads, and washed all the roadworks crap off the bike, and sprayed some lube on the chain. Enquired about dyno runs but the bloke is flat out and has no time... @Frankster we'll have to go another time... earliest available is june, I'm thinking around the end of october. Still need to adjust the steering head bearing but might outsource that one to the kawasaki place here.
Dropped my frame down at the blaster this morning... well midday. Expecting it to be ready later in the week which is fine as I need to do a mercy run to Moree on Wednesday / Thursday to fix a Solar Pump installation.. he rings me at 3pm to come and get it.. all done thank you very much. So I have hung it up on 2 straps from the garage roof... and given it a reasonable coat of Etch Primer.. I will turn it up the other way in the morning... just to make sure I didnt miss anywhere. I also managed to source another puller and the crank is now out of the cases.. This weekend will the stripping the paint off them and getting them ready to go off for machining to take the 350 barrel Pics tomorrow.. Ok, maybe 1 or 2 today
Got the new 15w oil and zeal springs loaded up and the seal doctor did its thing .... damn those springs and spacers were bloody hard to compress to get the caps on , even with no weight on the forks and fully extended . Just rolling and braking in the driveway and they feel extremely stiff Ill drop the front end a few mm then a road test maybe t/m
[Q Stiff as in a good stiff like a stiffy which makes you grin? You could get some basic measurements on sag to see where you're at -
