Project The FZR on Steroids Bike

Picked up some bits from a stolen/wrecked parts bike including the headlight assembly to replace mine that has a large burnt/melted lump on one side
Pulled things apart while waiting for the postman




The intake flapper , which has to go or disabled via the ECU (opens at 4500 rpm) as its only there to reduce induction noise ... yea right ... " loud p̶i̶p̶e̶s̶ induction howl saves lives "





Never cease to be amazed by the brilliant skills of POs

 

Discovered why the left fork was a few mm higher in the TTs
When I went to loosen all the pinch bolts to lower it to match the right at 4mm (recommended) , they of course were already loose!
Well certainly nowhere near the 20+ Nm torque they are supposed to be

Hit some bumps and your fork leg moves up the triple trees

Some people should never progress past their pump up scooter

 

So my new number plate is ready to pick up
I dont want to drill holes in it to mount it like the old one so anyone with any easy and brilliant ideas ?

Plenty of 'number plate holders' but nothing cheap and simple

Something like this maybe , but without the price tag and billet wank and the word "Harley" involved

Maybe some 3mm alloy the same size as the new plate ( as long as it has holes in it ) and then some countersunk screws to mount it up to the existing tail tidy?

Yep my thoughts too but something nicely manufactured and readily available at 1 or 2 clicks of my mouse is preferred to a home made hack job

Might be able to use some 50mm x 3mm too and just support the bottom half ?

Use the bottom outer numberplate hole's to mount the plate on and some countersunk bolt's to bolt it to the rear subframe

Out with the gay K&N filter and in with the go fast red BMC



Old hex key tool holding thingy ... grind, drill, paint and finish with the number plate shuffle ... total cost $0.00

 

All back together and out onto the 'test track' for a nice sunny day blat

Running much smoother and crisper with the new filter
Also been playing with the suspension (thanx to watching 101 videos from @Dave Moss Tuning ) and it felt better even with my beginner skills , but a long way to go

 

So you have been out "exercising"... apparently it is good for you
That plate looks the Ducks Nuts too.

 

Which time, seems to be multiple layers not properly sealed.

That section of the road actually has an A1 surface and a nice sweeper and a good spot to open the taps while out 'testing'

Maybe they should use that method more often
