    Bikes **** me

Crap screws and tight as , just to remove the throttle guide .... dremel surgery required ... 2 minute job took 2 hours

    dremel.png

And the tube someone sent me that was supposedly a stock one is identical to what came out ....

    :idk::commando:

So got the TuneECU running finally .... initially to see if it has the correct mapping and eventually to try and calm down the power delivery at low throttle , as it had the standard throttle tube all along

The map its running is for an Arrow exhaust so its wrong for starters as it now has a standard setup .... so some changes needed and a trip to a dyno

Oh no, what are you doing Mr Grey. You've gone over to the dark side. Get back over here with the warm and fuzzy carburettors. You know you want to.

And while he was at it - we re-mapped the Triumph Sprint ST as well - had the original map (obsolete). It now runs far better between idle and 3500 rpm - much smoother without running like a hairy dog at low rpm's. The result now is that it powers through all the rev's very smoothly and with greater power, feeling like a modern bike - not like a 20 year old one. Never ran so good!

Did a few Ks today and it went like a dream .... the remap has calmed the beast ... so much more rider friendly and it holds the speed limit at a nice steady rpm without having to throttle down all the time ... and no more wheelies on the roundabouts .... and it now sounds like a grumbling black bear thats just been grabbed by the testicles.

    :imtheking:

Going by this from yesterday the throttle bodies are out of sync .... but will recheck it via the software now its 'run in' the new map out on the road.

And just for u old carby flunkys ... the throttle bodies have to be synced by 2 adjustment screws manually just like the old days .... and tank off , airbox off ... same old shite :fuckyou:

Syncing the throttlebody's will make it idle a lot smoother

The triumph dealer software lets you view the vacuum readings via the diagnostic cable, pity it's not available publicly, I've never had to plug in a set of gauges on on any FI triumph.

So even though Im not a big fan of carbon fibre , I bought an exhaust tip from Germany , as u do

And like alot of bike things Ive bought lately it doesnt fit!

The holes for the spacers / fixing bolts are too small :commando:

Now Ive sent off a complaint to the company but the only solution will be to drill out the holes a little ... now of course we are talking carbon fibre , which Im sure is the real deal and not plastic from China ... it certainly wasnt cheap so Id like to not stuff it up.

    Any thoughts

A drill would possibly 'catch' and crack it. Just use a round file.

hello, we are sorry that the holes are a bit too small. it can come from time to time to small rework like holes aufweitweiten, there are hand-made parts.
Could you widen the holes yourself?
We usually do that with a Dremel. To do this, mask off the affected area with adhesive tape that does not break and slowly widen with the Dremel. So it should work and fix it quickly. Regards Nadine

    New message to: ffcarbon_de

I can fix it myself but why should I have to?

After spending $120 the only thing I should be doing is spending 5 minutes bolting it on

I suggest you improve your quality control

And are you going to guarantee to send me a new one if it cracks while Im trying to enlarge the holes?
