For the last month or so since selling my gsx250e I've been riding this beautiful VTR1000f
I love it, like, a lot!
I'd still love a project though If anyone's got a free cbr250 ha ha swing it my way

 

Now that's a weapon

 

It's Carb'd. Has the largest carburettors on any production motorcycle ever built...48mm
I've been tweaking the tuning a little, it was running waaaaaay too rich, fouling plugs when I got it. Pretty easy to remove the carbs. It's a very interesting bike. Basically a very modern motorcycle in terms of the electronics etc...but just has carbies. It's very similar in design to the Suzuki SV1000 (which is fuel injected). I did ride an SV and loved it but it was a little 'too smooth' if you know what I mean. Kind of boring compared to the VTR...probably would get better fuel consumption etc but I don't ride everyday, I ride for fun on weekends etc.
I am really falling in love with this bike though. I do miss my little 250...until I crack the throttle on the VTR ha ha.
I wouldn't mind getting another project to do up, mind try and find a nice MC21/22 somewhere

 

What year model is it? Thats also what I loved about the R6, modern but just carbs and a cdi, no fancy electrickery hanging off it

 

It's an '05 the last year they made them. It has a lot of bottom end torque so you can ride it so easily

I bought a ZXR250 for an excuse to be in the garage ...i always wanted one when i was a kid though......but my usual ride is a 1999 Ducati 996 thats been looked after extremely well. Good way to keep my pockets empty in any case ;-)

As I have shared I race a 1987 Honda VT250F2H in Lightweight Supersport 250 and 300 classes mostly against Ninja 250's in 250 with some CBR250R's in there as well. In 300 I race against R3's, Ninja300's and a couple Ninja 250's.



In my shed I have a 2003 Honda VFR800A that I bought new in April 2004, a 1974 CB360 that I built from a box of parts in 2011 and a 2009 BMW F800GS (brilliant bike) that I bought two years ago.



I also ride a 2016 Norco Sasquatch 6.2 Fatbike, a 2014 Giant TCX SLR1 cyclocross, a 2016 Giant Defy Advanced SL1 road bike, a 2017 Giant Reign SX bike park/gravity mountain bike and I just got a 2017 Giant Anthem Advanced 0 last week as my new best friend, my trail bike
Yeah, so I should add that I own a bicycle shop

 

The reason the inner carbs have different jets has to do with cylinder temperatures, inner cylinders will not cool quite as well as the outer which have more air wash.

 

I had one of those when I was 16! Blew the con rod out the side of the engine

 

Nice RR! Electric intake motor?? Is that one of those so called 12v super chargers?? Is that a joke?

 

I joined because I bought a SRX250 that needs some attention, but they were only brought to the U.S. for one year. So it is great to have, but parts are a challenge to find.
My other bikes that are riders are are a 2005 Yamaha FJR1300, 2003 Suzuki GSXR1000, 2008 Aprilia RSV 1000 Factory, 2006 Suzuki V-Strom 650,1971 Yamaha R5, 1974 Kawasaki H2, 1992 Suzuki DR350, 1982 Honda MB5, Suzuki SP100. With more project bikes than I will ever finish.
It is wonderful to see all the great small bikes that the U.S. never received.

Hi y'all. I ride a 2015 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL1200X (the "Forty Eight" model). My wife rides a 2006 Harley-Davidson FLSTNI (Softail Deluxe). That said, as an MSF RiderCoach, I work with about 85 smaller motorcycles for the Basic RiderCourse and the Experienced RiderCourse. They are a mix of Honda CB250, Honda CMX250, Suzuki TU250, Suzuki GZ250, Yahama TW125 and a few enduros that I don't recall the make and model of at the moment.
