Question about mc22 rear rim/wheel

    In a nut shell, the cbr600f2 rear wheel appears to be exactly the same as the mc22 wheel but 1/2 and inch thicker at the tyre width. Will this work on the mc22 without having to change the swing arm?
    not concerned about spacers bushing etc, just want to know if the wheel will fit. Or more or less want to know how compatible it is.
    I have been trying to find evidence of a person changing the rear rim on mc22 but not seeing anything without the swing arm being changed.

    Probably so that he can fit 150 width tyres without the shape distorting, particularly near the edge which is what has happened in my experience. Would be a larger available selection of tyres in 150 than 140 width.

    I have figured out a much better solution.

    It's a secret ^_^ na I just found really great tyres for the stock rims is all.

    Yes they would. 4inch thickness is suited to 130/70 or 140/60 from pretty much every tyre calculator site you go to. 150/60 is 2 sizes beyond recommended.

    Well according to charts and recommendations of very good sources the stock rims for nsf250r are 2.5/17 front rim and 3.5/17 rear rim
    Mc22 is 3/17 and 4/17
    Pirelli sell moto3 superbike tyres in size of 115/70 and 125/70 which will fit the mc22's stock rims practically perfect.
    They are slicks and they cost hmm 360$ at my local dealer for a set delivered so that's half the cost of retail super corsa and the moto3 tyres would smash the super corsa's in turns of turn in time and grip. Just gonna throw them on with some tyre irons on the morning of the track day.

    Slicks won't be road legal unless they have some sort of tread on them... and then they're not really slicks.

    no they aren't road legal nore will they last very long hence tyre irons wheel weights foot pump etc etc everything you need to change the tyres your self before and after the track day. But like I said will obliterate the super corsa in every way including being much lighter and cheaper.

    As for daily tyres I'll probably find a set of 110/70 140/60 radials that work well in all weather conditions and last for a billion miles.

    As others have said I'd be concerned with front/rear sprocket alignment, you will wreck them and the chain in short order if its not in proper alignment. Not to mention brake caliper...

    If the stock MC22 rim can take a 150 without issue, and there's a tyre you want in that size, then go for it. You could try a 120 on the front.

    Just consider that Honda put 110/140 standard for a reason...

    A bigger rim and tyre won't make you go faster... it's just more unsprung weight. Makes more of a difference with only 40/45HP.

    For daily I'd stick to 110/70 and 140/70 as thats stock, but if you want a low profile rear id go 150/60 from what I've heared you will peg scrape and still have lile 10mm of tire

    You guys clearly aren't reading what I have said. I'm using the stock rims so there is no need to worry about sprocket or chain, I'm using tyres that are specified for the stock rims and no 140/70 is a misconception, 140/60 is the correct size for a 4inch width rim hence the owners manual saying 140/60.
    But by all means use what you want, but good luck doing better than Motogp tyres...

    well to be fair, you were talking about a cbr600 rim

    easier way is to find a cheap set of rims that you can swap out at the track

    That's true, my bad. That might have been the way to go had available tyres not popped up.
    I did think about 2 sets of rims but then if ur bolting sprockets and changing bearings and discs etc etc it's probably just easy and cheaper to just change the tyre. But either all.
