I would have through the only possibility to dispense with the wasted spark setup would require a cam position sensor of some description - which may not be as difficult as it sounds if you can find a suitable donor bike to transplant the parts from

Just got back from a quick ride, it feel's stronger through the rev's, it seem's to pick up a bit more from 6000 and up now and rev's sweet to 18,500 too.
For the seat of the pant's feel, the pencil coil conversion get's :thumb_ups::thumb_ups: from me
Only went for 20 min's as i realised i was running on reserve with no cash in my wallet
Think i need to look at the fuel level's and maybe mixture's again, might be able to drop the fuel level down as it's a bit slow to rev down low (was like that before the new coil's too)

Yes, or you would have to manually set/program the unit so it knows which of the two is on compression stroke.

answer from Ignitech about my 400 that will not be running EXUP:
We can offer programmable unit TCIP4 standard with connector adapter. Connection for next two coils you have to make yourself.
Could you say what COP coils will you to use ?
    unit TCIP4 standard 142 USD
    connector adapter 4 USD
    Freightage DHL 49 USD

Recommended accessories is USB/COM cable for connection to PC 15 USD

    Thank you Jiri,
I am not sure which coils to use. A friend fitted used ones from a 2008 Suzuki GSX650F. Maybe something like that.
    Cheers

    OK.
Do not use coils from Yamaha R6 to 2005 year, GSXR750 1998-99 and GSXR600 1997-2000.

Regardless of the COP I will probably get one of these.

Those coil's (R6 pre 2005, 97-2000 GSXR) have a low primary resistance (under .8 Ω) it draw's too many amp's through the transistor's in the tci and they'll fail quickly

FastBikeGear in NZ have re written the manual for the Ignitec TCIP4 for $10, their version has 30 page's and explain's thing a lot better
They also recommend coil's and other stuff to use with that ignition, they have tip's, trick's and other information about firmware upgrade's
    http://www.fastbikegear.co.nz/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1636_1640&products_id=6233
If you buy the ignition from them it come's with the above manual, or you can buy it seperately for $10

So the Ignitec ignition you are getting is the V88 version ?
Fast Bike Gear is selling them for a bit more than Ignitec

Took the bike out for another ride today, it started very quick again.
One thing, over the last couple of ride's i've noticed it's running cooler now, instead of the temp gauge sitting on 1/4 it's sitting on 1/8, it was 29 today.

If those are the ones I had, you might find they flash too fast.

I tried the chinese ones once they fell apart due to the internals... ended up going to LED's.

I have just used the new lenses, my indicator body's are good.
They fit just as good as the original's, they have Stanley 7277 on the lenses like the original's but no Japan

One of my original lense's 20161209_161404.jpg 20161209_161308.jpg 20161209_162250.jpg had a crack on the side and was missing one of the retainer tab's

Ah yes I agree the covers are OK but the internals were dodgey - like a single solder weld to hold the tiny wire in place that snapped off really easily

I spotted a new seller on ebay today today too, Litetek :thumb_ups:

This is my old front sprocket worn way past it's limit's, an earlier one was fitted with a washer as a spacer
I will pick up a new chain too during the week

Aaah the plot thickens, packed and posted. :)
The thicker sprocket gives more contact area on the spline and you can never have enough of that.
The eBay ploy is a test to see what happens, and if it brings any buyers to my website. They can buy off eBay if they want but it is not a good system for a business that wants to support customers.
    cheers
    Blair
