Which seal kit have you guys used when rebuilding 38mm 3LN1 forks? I don’t seem to be able to find a seat with the dust caps as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I didn't need to replace mine, just cleaned them up while the fork's were apart. All Ball's say's there is 3 different size oil seal's available for the FZR 3LN's https://www.xpsa.com.au/all-balls-55-108-yamaha-fzr-250-3ln-1989-1993-fork Not sure about the dust seal's, maybe genuine if you need them ? Because its an FZR250 .... everything is a PIA ... or a challenge, to put it nicely Ive never done the forks .... and now I can see another reason to keep it that way
I have the stanchions for the 3ln and 2kr, in case you anyone needs it. Aftermarket, but pretty decent quality. Don't have the seals or anything else that goes with it, just the stanchions
Ended up ordering a set of each from Megazip. Around $70 all up from their Japan store. One more thing sorted..
Looking up the AKA part number from the ebay link's above, the same fork seal's are also used on- 1987-1989 FZ750's 1986 KTM80 and KTM85 1986 and 1987 FZX700 Fazer's 1987-2007 Kawasaki KLR650's A4-A19/B/Tengai (Not C model) 1979-1980 KDX400 So might make them easier to find

Well I had a message on Saturday saying my parts had been packed and shipped. Then a knock on the door today and I have my parcel from Megazip. Pretty impressive really. Parts are in genuine Yamaha bags so I guess they are Genuine and a nice little card telling me who packed them and hoping I would return buy from them again soon Now I can think about rebuilding the front forks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
@Andych hey I know this was a couple years ago but do you have any tips or pointers in stopping the front forks from leaking?
They shouldnt be too difficult to change... depending on what has been done before you had the bike. If you have the FZR manual or the drawing from Megazip etc you can see the parts. Just take your time, make sure the top guide bushes are not worn and the tubes are not scored or pitted (or undersize from wear) and give everything inside a really, really good clean before reassembling and new seals and oil. Simples.....
@GreyImport or @Linkin - didn't one of you guys get a seal doctor thingy to clear some grit from some fork seals which was successful?
