It depends how hot it got. Feel the wiring, if its brittle/hard and doesn't bend easily, it's been overheated and should be replaced.

electricity takes the shortest path. you could have a bare wire anywhere in the circuit. unravel and follow from headlight back. burnt wiring you will notice. painstaking process and shorts will drain the battery.

i read you put an extension on. what for and where does it go? you may have overloaded the circuits carrying capacity.

Extension maybe 10 cm long on headlight earth that was burnt out, cut back to original length and the headlights good again, still dim.

@GreyImport ran your battery tests its allgood giving off over 12v from battery terminals and same from switch cables on the solonoid drops to around 10 when i hit starter and 12v across solonoid bolts even when bikes off

how do i find and test starter relay ive got one black relay with 2 prongs in an L shape that is mounted near solonoid would this be for the starter or more headlights, and can i test starter motor without removing it ?
    appreciate all the help guys

and drops from around 12v to 0.01 if not 0 when hitting starter switch between two main solonoid bolts

starter probably seized or jammed. disconnect wire to starter- then a positive lead from battery to starter with bike in nuetral.leave ignition on and see if motor fires.if starter no turn then pull srter off and repeat to see if starter turns. starter will have to be earthed for this. if starter turns look at thread on cracked crankcase.if does not turn pull starter apart.if burnt buy another starter.

Hey @risky I am having trouble with the trigger wire to the CDI. My wiring has been hacked. Does the trigger wire coming from the stator go to the blue /white input into the CDI. Where does the green white wire go? I have a green /white trigger wire. Also my kill switch doesn't operate? help would be very much appreciated.

from looking at my wreck blue/white goes to blue/white,green/white goes into connector and nothing comes out-green/red goes via connector to the wiring harness,blue/white and green /white is a 2 in and the green .white goes nowhere. hope that helps.
