Hey @Oz_gone, you and @Linkin should catch up some time: he's in Zetland and your in Surry Hills..... you can compare Fizzer notes..
Yep, thats what we thought. There has to be a way to connect to the carb body and they dont have a particular connection the other end...They just hang there. Do they have to be 'one way' breathers tho?
Ah.. no they're just a filter, I don't know if they're meant to be one way breathers....... Interesting, my FZR carbs never had them on, just had the tubes hanging off... I put the proper ones on, but never noticed any difference.... I suppose they're meant to filter the air going in.....
Interesting ..... Ive never found that in any of the carbys here @Murdo .... are u splitting the bank ? ... if u want to use the ultrasonic cleaner let me know.
Yes, I've seen that in one of my sets of carbs... not quite as much though... I think it was the originals...
Odd they dont connect to the air box then...As that is filtered already. Was worried that they gave some sort of pressure effect as they seem to be one way!
I also just did my carbs with keyster carb kits i felt your pain when they didnt have the brass hex screw for emulsion tube as two of mine were broken and replaced by previous owner with normal screws causing all sorts of problems, i got my two off fowlers in the UK for 15 pounds using the part number 1hx 14565 that @GreyImport gave me
We eventually got the pilot jet out of the housing and with the extra jet housing bolt that Kiffsta sent we should be able to move forward now. Also managed to pick up a set of used 3LN carbs from WA that might be good for spares if anything else go's wrong or resell if not.
Good news! I suggest that you lubricate all of the brass threads when you fit all of those new jets and the pilot screws too. Dissimilar metals gall and brass is notorious for it. When you hear a squeaking thread, that is the sound of tearing metal. I use WD40 cheers Blair
Aaaah my humour did not go unnoticed. Have to have something to laugh about I usually write my web pages as irreverent as possible and then I have to edit them so as not to offend and confuse the world at large.
