    Its a fail
It idles but revs are all over the shop
It jumps from practically nothing and reached 16,000 for a second but its much the same
Must be the coils .... all headers were the same temp

    :headbang:

    Hi Chief,
Sorry, the merge chamber bung o-rings are not used elsewhere in Fizzers. I will be Mr Brown-Blue soon. We will continue to use the Fluorosilicone (blue) o-rings for what I consider mission critical locations. The rest is all going to 70% Flourine FKM (Viton GF series if you are looking for what that means).
    Cheers
    Blair

Pilot circuit in the carbs might be blocked too, or did you throw them in the ultrasonic tank?

No I didnt seperate them .... I pulled off/out everything possible including the bung and sprayed then compressed aired everything and watched all the exits as I did it ... not perfect but ...

While testing for spark with no coil on #1 and no fuel left in the mini bottle , it started first go and idled ... go figure!
So plenty of spark on all 4
Im thinking new plugs are next .... alot of ether went down the intakes and old fuel was still in the carbs during the first starting attempts the other day

I have had instances on Chevy v8 where lots of ether literally killed a set of expensive Irridium plugs...coughed a few times so sprayed more... then swapped out the plugs for an old crappy set of standard 350 plugs and she ran like a top... allowed me to run in the cam at 2000 rpm for 20 minutes... ahhh the good old days :)

"Mr Green/Blue .... your o rings are holding up well .... its nearly 10 years since I initially did these carbs"
Yes, once we have sold a kit to every owner on Earth we will have to shut down, but by that time I will have 1000 subscribers on YouTube and will be paid 38 cents a month. :)

New plugs ... CR9Es as I had a new set on hand

Starts and idles nicely but doesnt rev out .... the slides are "jittery" so theres something going on there

I just spent 3 hours re attaching a COPS plug .... another tip for young players ... dont pull out coil packs before unplugging the harness

Im done with this pile of scrap metal :commando:

That's how I feel about my 3D printer. There is so much of it that has been replaced that I call it Franken-Printer now.

No, they were a mistaken belief that the float valve o-rings were too loose. Don't use them.

Well they look pretty but do they work ? .... no they dont

It starts and it revved out to 16000 and blew out a massive fireball but its 'idling' at 6/7000 rpm and wont drop
The other carbs idled nicely but nothing more :headbang:

Idles at 6/7000RPM with the butterflies closed at idle - air leak at manifolds or butterflies not actually closed to idle [opening] - stuck open a bit?

Won't take much of an excess opening of the butterflies to idle that high BTW

I bench synced them .... and the butterflies are snapping shut via the throttle (not running)

Might need a visit to the crusher :minigun:

Edit : so I just started it from scratch , no throttle , no choke and it climbed to like 4000+ in a an instant before I shut it down :idk:

Idle adjustment it it's idling that high - won't take much of an opening to be able to rev that high
