KDX 200's, yz250, VTR 250's, maybe ZXR 250C's, then it is incomplete bikes and parts. Even an electric motor control unit out of a Zero MX bike (no motor, batteries are dead) if anyone thinks it could be useful. There's a KX 250, but...
VTR has a roadworthy and listed for sale. Got 2 other bikes up for sale as projects. I put the TC185 on the ramp yesterday: it looks like a big project. I am thinking I should pull it all down and build it back up, but it is a lot of time and money. The forks are sad, thought about replacing the front end. Maybe it is a bike better off with someone who will care for it do what needs doing... And do it properly.
I have a customer who had his mc22 race prepped by a mate , there was so much wrong with the bike And it wasn’t running. I refused to help out unless he let me put it back to how it should be. New carb boots sorted the leaks, replaced a 1m fuel hose with the correct 10cm oem line , installed a radiator fan which was removed to save weight . Replaced the fuel tap so the vaccum actually worked. We now had the bike running nicely then it would stall, check the stator output and one phase was very low so I replaced that with a known good spare , I checked the reg and it passes the diode test , decided on a Hail Mary to swap it out with a known good one , boom the bike is now screaming like a banshee. I will have to sort the Clutch out on Monday ,then it will be ready for some track time. I can’t believe how bad some of the work that was done to this bike. Clutch is weird , pop it into gear at idle and the bike lurches a tiny bit then stops and it cannot find Neutral while it is running. the cable is good, freeplay at the lever is good, Shift rod is fine and adjusted to spec , I suspect the clutch plates and springs are passed their used by date. Any suggestions ?
Worn out clutch basket, notches stopping the plates from moving / separating, would by my guess without looking at it.
My across had that for a little bit, i decided to do an oil change, as it was the original oil in the bike when i got it and problem fixed. Maybe that was just my issue.
An overtightened clutch basket nut compresses the bearing and drags the washer on the basket. Make sure the washers are correct, too. Some have 2 different thickness washers, inside and outside of the basket. As for me, I registered the VTR and took it for a ride. I forgot how cool these bikes are; no wonder I bought it! Now to work out which bike to sell... The 650 is in the sights..

Bought an old school rare triple Yamaha XS850g , safely tucked up up in the garage at home , 78k on the clock , hasn’t run in a few years , brakes need some attention. I won’t be touching it for a bit , need to finish the 380
Looks pretty good. I bought the first model XS750D new in August 1977 and did 55,000 trouble free Km's before trading it with my cousin in 1980. Went Ducati Pantah then.
Well, I got hijacked by my father Saturday, so I got nothing done on bikes for the weekend, but... Another project gone. Sold the YZ 250 project bike. I think that means I've sold more bikes this year than last year. And I haven't bought any bikes, yet! Nearly bought a ZX-6R yesterday, but we are still negotiating. I'm hoping they don't reply and I don't buy it. Went riding the VTR yesterday; it is a cool bike, and I have a few cool bikes, so now I need reduce the number of cool bikes down. I think the 650 is going: it's not a cool bike, and looking a bit sad. But there's a fair bit of work in some of my keeper bikes, like the TC185 and there's work in the other YZ 250 to be sold. I don't have the time for them all. Woe is me.
Yea right .... u cant help yourself Looks in good shape ... has it been restored or is that original paint?
This might giver @kiffsta some inspiration to finish the 380... that thing sounds and looks awesome. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=3385230598185305
