Looking for a CB350F or CB400F fuel tank for a 1972 CB350F. Also after after a wiring harness for said bike. Been slowing buying bits for my dads CB350F basket case project, he's rebuilt the engine and carbs and the tank and harness are the final missing pieces. Thanks
Harness can be bought new from several sources in the UK... The 350 and 400 are slightly different.. the tanks are certainly different but both are equally hard to come by. https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB350-FOUR/part_122204/ https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Honda-C...91e8078:g:n5YAAOSwNDJadFvD&LH_ItemCondition=4 Looks pretty ratty though
I've been searching for a good cb550/4 tank for ages, being a 78 model its different than all the rest and so hard to find, still haven't found one so i've settled for a cb500/4 tank which is the old style. Sometimes you just gotta use something not ideal till you find the right one.
Which is probably what we'll do... was thinking about something like this from ebay and mod it to fit as long as it doesn't require any frame modification and wait patiently for a good condition original tank to pop up on gumtree or ebay.
I have a CB250G5 tank that needs a big dent pulled out but other than that it is OK. I can trial fit it onto my 400 and take some pics if you like.. I will measure it up first to see if they are the same sort of length for mounting. The big issue will be how the seat fits up against the tank... not such an issue if you are doing a Cafe racer style but will look dog ugly if the rest of the bike is standard.

A$754 unpainted plus freight plus GST etc so expect it to be A$1100 plus by the time it is landed. Yamiya are good but quite expensive. I had a look at the CB250 tank and it is a no go. The tunnel isn’t wide enough to clear the coils. On the 250 they are hung under the top frame rail and closer together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Damn! does look pretty good though! Would save a lot of time especially with my run of luck with tank painting lol Thanks heaps for checking though, the CB400 tanks do look pretty spacious underneath! We've actually got side covers and the seat from the 400, didn't really want to go the cafe route unless it could be done without butchering the frame.
I don’t think the 400 side covers fit the 350 frame but I could be wrong. The 350 tank is different as well but should fit ok. Problem will be people will think it’s a 400 with quad pipes, if you still have good quad pipes that is lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I think i might have what you want. Not sure what i'm doing with it at the moment, but i'll get you a pic or two.
As i said, im not sure what im doing with it yet. It is 100% a CB 350f tank, I need to find a CB400F tank for myself still. But was going to use this in the meantime(would could be a while), still undecided. Its a good overall tank, I got a few minor repairs but no dents and pretty clean overall.
Nice! More than happy to wait as we have still lots to do on our 350F it's good to know there's a possible option for us if you end up getting a 400 tank.
Yeah, the arm is always able to be twisted lol. Its just a backburner project since i got a cb400f motor for free. I gotta see if i can get it to run, if its does and its good i'll build one. Otherwise it will all be up for grabs. Just keep pestering me about it from time to time.
Good luck finding a frame to go with the engine...lol They are getting very thin on the ground these days. Nice tank though.. should be able to braze those holes up nicely... or some silver solder.
It doesn't matter on the condition of the frame, i just need a frame in any condition. I'll find one eventually
