Hooray for our education system! "You attended often enough for us to want to get rid of you, have a completion certificate." That and predictive/autotext and typos on a phone. I turn grammar Nazi on some, so tempted to reply with corrections some days. The one that really gets me is no punctuation AT ALL! No sentence breaks, no capitals, no fullstops, no commas, no extra gap to even suggest a sentence end. So you have no idea which bit is broken and which bit is good. And I was only a B/C grade student in English. Have you seen the meme about helping your Uncle Jack off the horse - capitals are important! Sorry, auto-rant.
Bought myself a grandpa bike and boy I do like it , lots of go and easy on the back. One of the guys who helps me out in the shop owned it and struggled with the weight so he sold it to me.
Did a lot of measuring on the SRX600 rear wheel and while it looks to be a good fit initially it turns out the axle size is 17mm where the 250 is 15mm. There are no "straight swap" rear wheel bearings to go to 15mm id and I dont want to open up the swing arm to 17mm so it looks like the easiest and best way is to go back to my original plan of using the FZR wheels, forks etc and having some spacers made up. I did score braided lines for front and rear as well as a good headlight shell. I will still need to adapt the SRX250 front guard but hopefully that wont be too difficult. Now I just need to press on and start putting it together..
I did a bit of work to the KX250. Yes, I started another project, but only so I could ride it on the weekend. But it needed a bit (lot) of work, so I isn't finished, but it did start and run! Getting ready for a firesale. Tax return season, so good time to sell up, too.
Do you want original's ? This seller has a few style's in Thailand https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HONDA-S...m2375d37c8d:g:aIIAAOSwKOJYF33t&frcectupt=true There's also Dunstall style muffler's on ebay UK too https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dunstal...546184?hash=item4d36d71188:g:eiQAAMXQUmFSliAm
Silvers in the UK have Pattern parts for both sides... down pipes as well. https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB250K4-SUPER-SPORT-1972---1973/part_50960/
david silver is out of stock for months and may not re stock. went through the thailand list and none in original style.denis has a pair in poor chrome in his shed and am considering a trip to stain tune to see if can copy the original style. bgr bike is a cb250k3 or k4. engine and frame numbers start in 502.
Did the fork seals on the bandit at work, holy moly did that fork oil stink! I reckon the seals and oil were all original... 20 years without changing it...
Had to do a run to Ipswich to pick up a bike for a customer , it was a 1984 su7&8 rl250 trials bike, I had never seen one in the flesh and this seller had 3 of them There was 40 trials bikes spread throughout his house and garage
40 bikes? There, but for the grace of God, go I. Or but for the lack funds... At least his are sought-after.
went to see the vjmc librarian to check on the old honda 250 and is a 1973 k4 . received the david silver deduction from the bank account. so close to a grand not funny and still need 2 mufflers and headlight rim.might end up a 5/6 k bike. ah for nostalgia.
Silvers in the USA show LH and RH downpipe and mufflers are currently in stock in UK. Bother are shown as Genuine items not Pattern parts so will be expensive. The search I did was for K4. The K5 is actually the same as the G5 but with the TLS front brake although there was some carry over of this into the 1974 G5. Lots of differences, biggest is the engine. Very different. I have been looking for downpipes for my K5/G5 since I bought it last October. Still haven’t found any Second hand other than in the USA and way too expensive for what they are.
