Just wondering if anyone knows of a genuine place to take her?? preferably around the redlands or close by?? I'm also looking for a pillion seat if anyone has one how much would you like for one?? and kiffsta if your not busy this week end or next week end would you like to do a meet and greet.. Hey maybe you can help me with what mite be wrong with her :) and as always we can work something out

Hey mate, I'm pretty certain for the zxr250 tyga kit you can't have a pillion seat unless a ninja 250r pillion seat fits?

As for the service I haven't taken my bike anywhere before, I learnt my own servicing. What kind of playing up is the bike doing?

Well just recently when I go to start her up she isn't kicking over untill I use the throttle and dump her revs and even then it takes maybe 3-4 attempts while befor she started 1st time every time.. Personally I would like to check the spark plugs and leads and then give her a general service anyways.. But I could be completely wrong I don't really have previous history on the bike altho the last owner said he rebuilt it not long ago for his wife.. But you can't always believe what they tell you, so hmm

My advice to u is to avoid using a mechanic / bike shop ..... unless as a last resort

Servicing a bike is not hard ..... tuning the carbs can be tricky , but thats life with an old inline 4.

Youre best to try and get some help with the basics from a couple of the boys here that are local to you ..... just keep the cold beer flowing.
Also thats what the forum is all about ...free advice and help online.
Plus get all the ZXR documentation from here and read it.

If your going to own a bike , especially a 20+yr old one ...u need to get some basic tools and knowledge ....that way you learn whats under your ass and how to maintain and fix it in the future.
It will save u a shitload of money and u wont be paying off the the bike shop owners mortgage.
Money better used for cheaper parts and more tools etc.

You will soon appreciate the bike alot more because u fixed it yourself ...and also how easy the basics are once youve done it.

And yes , disregard anything the PO tells u .

And as for the seat I believe the tyga kit uses all the same fittings and parts so the old seat should slip in just fine

Just have a look at a pillion seat for a normal zxr then have a look at your cowling I don't think it fits. Also I do believe the kit removes the rear pegs when installed possibly.

I drink anything but love a Canadian club and dry, but I will most likely be on my bike (unless you need me to bring tools) and can't have a drink lol. What time are you getting into it tomorrow?

Do you have decent tools? Spark plugs are a royal bitch to get to in the zxr.
Do you have a rearstand? Makes it easier to take fairings off.

If u get to the plugs then check wat they look like ...... their condition can tell u how your bike is running ...take a photo and post it here.

Also make sure the leads are correctly attached to each plug/cylinder .... 1 coil powers cylinder 1 and 4 and the other coil fires 2 and 3

There alot of things could be causing your problem but always check the simple stuff first

If u have to give it handfuls of throttle then check the fuel filter (if it has one) ..... also there could be a build up of junk in the tank clogging the internal filters ...... run it on reserve so both outlets are used.

The fuel supply/ fuel tap runs on a vacuum system ...make sure the vacuum lines are still connected and /or not kinked or split.

Is the battery up to scratch? .....get a cheapo multimeter and run these tests
