    YOU'RE THE MAN
Now please repair the fence, re assemble the outdoor furniture and cease annoying the neighbours with your shouting and yelling, or as I would do put the fairings on the bike and HIT THE ROAD, you deserve it.
All jokes aside, well done mate. Glad that it finally came together, it's a good feeling!!

Woo hooo! Cheers :D I'm very chuffed! And a lot more confident in servicing now too!
My neighbours hate me haha last night when I was doing the coolant, I tried giving the starter a few flicks to out the coolant in the motor (no intention of running it, it was very late) and the neighbours outside light comes on straight away as in "yes I can hear you, and don't even think about it" ha! And her parents are the owners of the place I'm renting too! :/

Thanks again for the help, no doubt I'll return with more queries lol

    Thanks! Ed.

Must be going around. Just had to change the cam tensioner in mine 2 weeks ago. Along with a service, it runs like a dream again.

Interested to know what was the problem with the original tensioner? .... was it damaged or stuck...??

My mechanic spoke to his ninja guru, apparently the cam tensioners are meant to be changed every 20,000 kms. With 53k on the clock I wonder if mine had ever been done.

And the bike was making one hell of a rattling noise, at first I was worried might have been tappets or something.

Ahh thats interesting.... the Fizzer has alot of rattle so its something that is on the job list ... starting with pulling the tensioner to see if its doing its job....I too have a spares bike to call on ..... who knows what realtime Ks either tensioner has on them (or chain for that matter) but its obviously the first and easiest starting point.

So the replacement tensioner stopped the "rattle" totally?

Ill have to hunt down the specs for the fizzer :thumb_ups:

EDIT: Is that in reference to this particular engine or the inline 4s in general?

Yep started by changing plugs and filters but rattle still there. As soon as cam tensioner was changed the rattle went. Mechanic said was slight noise in gearbox but stuffed if I can hear it.

just wondering, what kind of grease have you used for the chain tensioner bearing, ive been told not to use a lithium based grease.

I have had the some issue with my bike and I payed for a mobile machanic to come to me and he was very helpful with more then happy to explain exeactly everthing he was doing, and he was saying that some people gress them up and some people leave then dry personal we left it dry as it lubrcated from the engines oil anyway and mine has been really quiet since.
So to answer your question I find leaving it dry is best!

dont grease the bearing, just oil it before you install it.

I'm pretty sure mine needs to be done but wasn't overly confident in doing it or if that fleabay chain was gonna work. after reading this I'm a lot more confident and will give it a go.

Unless it comes in an original factory packet I would expect there to be some compromise on quality. How much work do you expect to do with the bike and how long do you intend to keep it will all come into the decision regards how much you wish to pay for an item.
